Just got the call form my hospital (OHSU Portland)... 5:30 AM arrival time tomorrow morning. I guess i'm first on deck. Man oh man I have butterflies.

I liken surgery to flying. You're the passenger and the surgeon is the captain. You may be nervous about an accident but it's just another day in the ****pit for your doctor.

My surgery was done robotically. Talk about the mother of all scary medical instruments. Yikes. I could barely look at it

It's sort of like your surgeon is playing a video game in your abdomen.

My surgeon summed up the advantage of robotic surgery perfectly. He said "Robot never gets tired!"

I had surgery a month ago and am doing great! I think we all had those feelings. As others have said try to keep focused on your long terms goals. You are having it done at a great hospital.
