Should I Be Able to Eat This Much?

Yeah, "Fat Kat" is always trying to convince me of crap -- you know, like I can eat just one cup of popcorn, that dark chocolate is healthy, and that I can eyeball food and get proper portions!
You know, the first one is free...
She's a real jerk!

LOL; I have a fat Kat living inside me too and she tells me the same things. I do feel full once in awhile but if I do it means I've taken one bite too many and live to regret it, lol.

Hi Eliza. We are in the same boat. I'm only 3 weeks out but I made the same mistake. I was having 2 oz of chicken and 1/4 cup of veggies at each meal and kinda worried about stretching my pouch. So I posted here 3-4 days ago and everybody told me it was too much for the 3rd week. So I went down to 1 oz meat & 1 oz veggies (all mashed/puréed). Moral of the story: I'm still good with half the food I was eating. So when they say you don't feel full but satisfied they are right (who would have thunk it ). We are not late and have not ruined the whole thing. Just adjust. It's early enough that we can go back on the right path. Good luck!

Thank you, Sheila! Through this discussion, I really realized how important weighing and measuring. I was doing it before, but I wasn't checking in on number of ounces of each kind of food that my surgeon's office recommended. I will get the hang of this. We can do this together, with the help of this great resource. :)
Hi,
im 10 months outs. I already have trouble remember four weeks out, but I do remember that it took a while to really feel the restriction of my pouch. As far as carbs go, even now they do not fill me up like dense protein does. Lose the tortillas and stick with the protein. :) Some clinics will tell you you can eat carbs. My own clinic is of two minds it seems. The packet of papers they give you for surgery has carbs in the sample menus at all stages. But the nutritionist I see there is very anti carb. For myself, when I let carbs creep in, my weight loss stalls and I start feeling hungrier.

Most of the foods your eating are soft such as yougurt. I remember posting a few weeks after surgery that I was concerned about how much I was able to consume. As long as your on plan your good. Believe you don't want to find out the hard (dumping) that u are to much. Also all the nerves have been cut so you don't get that full sensation. Good luck
Hi Eliza,
I don't need to add to the great advice everyone has already given you but I want to wish you the best of luck and success in your journey. Stick around this place and you will learn lots of great things! :) I'm still just a newbie at just 9 1/2 months out so I'm learning the tools for success everyday here on this forum.
