What's on your menu today (Tuesday) RNYers?
Good morning! I went to the gym yesterday just to walk on the treadmill. It was nice enough to walk outside but very muddy, so indoor walking it was for me.
Qotd: fall is my favorite, I love the "hunkering down for winter" feel, the smells, the crisp air...but I also love spring and the lightheartedness I feel coming out of winter, and of course, garden planning!
menu:liquids. I'm dying here. I don't want any more broth or strained soup or jello...I'm contemplating calling the surgeons office Thursday and asking if I can move to soft foods. That's technically my 2 week anniversary but my apppintment isn't until Monday. Not hungry, just so tired of my options that I don't even want them

Have you tried any strained cream style soup and add protein powder to it. That really worked for me.

Are you allowed popsicles? I found having something to bite into helpful
I would call. My surgeon's office gave us our list of phases with dates to start them regardless of our appointment dates.

I am just a few weeks ahead of you and yes, the liquid phase is SO HARD. Hang in there. I second the suggestion for popsicles - I was living on them during that phase. (I like the Outshine no sugar added fruit bars). I also made my own chicken stock, which was better than the canned stuff. (easy recipe if you need one: toss a chicken carcass or two into your crock pot with whatever veggies are in your crisper (I like celery, carrots, tomatoes, parsnips, onions, garlic - anything, really). Set it to high and leave it to simmer overnight. Cool, season and strain.)
... what else did I eat (I swear I've blocked it out already.) Protein shakes, tea, sugar free jello... uh, that was it. It was challenging.
Hang in there.
Didi
Lol I've gotten pretty creative about jazzing up the Broth, though I haven't made my own.
theoretically I only have 2 more days of liquids if I'm allowed to progress on thursday

Good morning! The walk in today was great. Yesterday my left foot was really sore, like a muscle fatigue sort of sore. I feel it a bit in the right foot too. I figure the walking, the wearing of a proper fitting shoe the past few days (as opposed to a snow boot) and my gym trips has affected the feet a tad. I'll keep an eye on things. It occurred to me on my walk, that at this very moment one year ago, I was laying on the slab about to go under the knife for WLS. Today is my 1-year surgiversary! That crept up on me pretty quickly. What an amazing, life changing year it has been.
Menu: B: 1/2 cup ff greek yogurt, with 1/2 cup strawberry/raspberry mix, and a bit of granola mixed in
MS: 1/2 cup cottage cheese, 1/2 cup chopped dill pickles mixed in
L: 3 oz chicken breast, bbq'd (heck yeah) and some broccoli/cauliflower, lite dressing
AS: 1/2 cup ff greek yogurt, and mixed berries
S: Unknown but plan-forward
Exercise: 11km round trip walking commute, plus I'll be hitting the gym tonight after I teach a drum lesson. All water and vitamins on the go.
QOTD: I used to be a winter guy, back when I could tolerate the cold. Now I just loathe the feeling of being frozen all of the freakin' time. I suppose I enjoy summer more now because I don't sweat like I used to, but my favourite is fall. I love harvest time, the colours, and pulling out the favourite hoodies and so on. Except for the "pumpkin craze", I love fall flavours, fall fairs, and cruises or bike rides in the country.
I love the new life that comes with spring, as the dirty and dull winter colours fade, but I hate excessive rain, the mess that comes with a saturated ground, all of that.
