Thank you for posting this... I'm close to being ready for surgery (getting ready to submit to insurance) and I, too, have this fear. I'm thankful for all the replies and hearing how normal it is to have this fear.
I'm one of the rare people that had serious complications. Would I do it again? In a heartbeat. Everything that happened(stitch breaking, pancreatitus, and an fungal infection), was correctable. It made me so much stronger. I'm glad that I did it and would do it again.
