Good Morning! I had a nice weekend in the current way of life. I did some baking and went on some extra runs plus I worked a few hours on Saturday (it was nice to work on a small part of a project without people pinging me with other things.) John had to rearrange the workout room equipment since the new treadmill is a little bigger than the one one and he wasn't able to do his DDP yoga.

Accountability: Not bad, had a few too many snacks last night but I've stayed away from my SF toffee and nuts since last Sunday.

QOTD: Definitely start new routines and find ways to connect with others that don't revolve around food.

TSS: 5 years 8 months

B: SF latte, eggbeaters and turkey sausage links

L: Albacore lettuce wraps and baby carrots

S: Chaffle and carbmaster cottage cheese

D: BBQ sirloin, green beans, sliced fruit, and 2 squares dark

ES: Low carb pita with cream cheese and cinnamon/spenda, Homemade Greek yogurt with SF syrup and cup fiber cereal

E: 8 mile run and 40 mins elliptical

V/W: On track

Totals: Cals: 1513 Protein:151 Carbs:104 Fat:62

Have a great one!

Morning! We had storms come through this morning too, but they were a lot less severe than they were potentially forecasted to be. We still have some high winds, but the temperature is really nice and it's supposed to be sunny soon. Easter is always a non-event for us for the most part, so yesterday wasn't much different than a normal day.

My Food:

  • Coffee w/ Cream x2
  • Eggs, Sausage, Sweet Potato
  • Egg Salad made with colored eggs!
  • Left over Shepard's Pie - shockingly I didn't hate this. I made it with ground pork and a lot less corn than they called for. I ended up eating just a small amount last night and supplemented with deviled eggs I had made (also out of colored eggs!).

Ta da da da. I officially lost the regain, back to goal. Now, keep it off and get 10 under. My wife is coughing up her lungs, so I fear she got the virus. We'll have to see. Grrr.

QOTD: 1) Don't test yourself. Most of us try cookies or candy to see if we dump. Just assume you will and don't add any of the non-nutritious crude back (at least for as long as you can). At my support group the folks over 5 years have not eaten a chip or a bite of pizza or any of the unnecessary foods. I thought I could control it, you can't. Thankfully I didn't get carried away and got back to goal. 2) You can't will yourself to success - Surround yourself with support: I go to support group, stay in contact with my surgeon's staff, have WLS friends that we each hold one another accountable and I go to therapy (a bariatric/weight mgmt specialist). The therapist is the most important piece and don't just go to someone just because you like them. They gotta know their stuff. I've run across some that believe the crude that happens in the weight loss facebook groups. They need to be weight loss specialists and have many bariatric patients.

B - 5 oz Fage, nuts, 1/3 cup of whole grain high fiber cereal

L - Turkey and cheese

S - 1/2 pretzel

D - burnt ends and salad

S - SF popsicles

Yeah!!! WTG on the regain removal. And I loved your answers to the QOTD. Support is probably the one thing that keeps me in the game.

Good morning JB and Menuers,

Ok I got that weekend out of the way. Not successfully put it is over. I did great Friday I did 4 miles on the treadmill and followed a plan. Saturday I walked 7 miles outside it was lovely but I fell into a bag of Fudge brownie M&M'S . I couldn't help it it was a new flavor (BTW) Not worth it. I was so disappointed Sunday and I was up a pound a fell into a big slump. I did not exercise, I grazed pretty much all day and ended up 2.4lbs. Ok so I am glad its over and today I'll be back on track.

It will be super busy here at work so if you don't get likes from me it may be I just am not able to get back.

QOTD: Chew Chew Chew Make sure all food is the consistency of applesauce before you try to swallow! This is where ( to this day) I still mindlessly screw up. If I don't pay attention It will send me in a tailspin and I will get stuff stuck and end up throwing up just to feel better. Never drink 1/2 hour before eating and an hour after for life. (this is my surgeons recommendations)

Mornin' All!

It's a beautiful sunny day out there but only 32 F, and I don't think it's going to get much warmer. Too bad because I'd love to get out and go for a walk. Maybe I will - but I hate having to bundle up! I'm overdue for weights, so I'll do those today for sure. Other than that, this committee I'm on has a Zoom test at 1:00 to make sure we're good to go for a meeting later on this week - and then I have online Mah Jongg at 1:30.

accountability was good yesterday, and my weight is way down today - YAY!!

QOTD: track, track, track. I've tracked my food intake every day since surgery and I also weigh myself several times a week. If I wasn't constantly monitoring myself, I know I'd start gaining weight pretty quickly (been there...). Also, do whatever you can to keep this at the forefront of your mind. The first year, I made my program and my weight my job. Now, it's more of a hobby - so it's still pretty much front & center, even though maybe not quite as intense as it was that first year. I'm on OH every morning - and sometimes later in the day, too - even if it's just to read. It sets me up in the right frame of mind at the beginning of each day so I'm not as likely to get off track.

TSS: 4y10m

B: protein pancakes with Greek yogurt and blueberry compote, coffee with half & half

L: lemon blueberry yogurt pie

AS: protein shake at some point. I also might make some air-popped popcorn if I want something during my Mah Jongg game

D: Real Good pork enchiladas

ES: yogurt (for my antibiotic)

ex: weights for sure. Maybe a walk if I can brave the cold!

have a good day, everyone!

JB hope the storm isn't as bad as forecast and stay safe.

QOTD- Everyone has pretty much covered all the bases. The only thing I can add is if you are feeling close to eating all of your weighed food and you feel our version of "full" don't take that last bite. You will be in misery for hours, for me if feels like I'm having a heart attack, excruciating pain in my chest. So don't pu**** you will know it when it happens.

This shelter in place crap is driving me crazy. I didn't even leave the house yesterday even though it was a beautiful day. I'm probably going all OCD on this virus stuff. My roommate is mad at me because I was upset that he was trying to drink from my water bottle and blowing on it. I told him to wa**** and he got mad and was gone for the night. He has been exposed to way more people than I have and he is a diabetic so I don't know why he isn't as worried as I am. I told him that I don't want either of us to die. To say this whole thing is freaking me out would be an understatement.

I tried to get my anti-depressant refilled but couldn't so this is day 2 without it. I have to say I did sleep better last night. Not sure if my NP is working or not, I tried to get it refilled at my local pharmacy but I'm still waiting. I also tried the mail order pharmacy and they show her working at the last WLS clinic, not her current one. So that could be part of the hold up. With the current situation I'm not sure if it is working or not. This is the first month I've taken it and I can't say my anxiety or depression is any less, but it could be just what is going on.

Accountability has been crap. Not enough water or protein, and too much salt. I've been craving it probably because I'm not drinking enough. I will try to get a walk in today. I need to quit being afraid to leave the house, or I'm going to lose my mind.

Have a great day everyone!

I haven't posted for a few days but have been reading. This group helps me to do better. I haven't been doing really badly but snacking too much and not always healthy snacks. Weight is up slightly so I really need to buckle down and eat right. I'm ok with staying in. Been making masks and thought I was finished but have some requests for more. Takes about 15 minutes to make one and I have tons of fabric to use.

QOTD: I agree with all the previous comments. One thing I found out was you have to watch your weight after that first year just like anyone else that hasn't had surgery. I thought once I had the surgery I wouldn't be able to eat enough to regain. I have had some regain of about 14 lbs. Took off 11 lbs. but I'm back up about 9. I weigh several times a week and that number sticks in my head.

Eats today:

Click shake

Greek yogurt

Sargento snack box

Chicken, asparagus, sweet potato

Strawberries

Good morning! Happy Monday!

QOTD - (11 years out here)

  1. This is a tool, not a magical fix. You will have to do the work. This is forever, and 90% of it is going to be what you make of it.
  2. Transfer addictions are real, statistics are statistics for a reason, and you are not above them.

Breakfast - fasting, so topo chico, hot black coffee

Lunch - Something heavy in veggies, I've had too many carbs lately

Snack - Fruit smoothie, water, fruit, oat milk, chia seed, hemp seed protein

Dinner - Beyond burger/veggies

Have a great day everyone!

Christina
