Food questions

I had my surgery 4 years ago. My surgeon left the practice and I only got to talk to a bariatic dietitian once. I've been confused about foods I can eat this far out. She told me not to eat lettuce unless it's a little bit of shredded. Why? Also I don't know if I can eat a boiled egg, an orange or fruit and vegetables with skin on it.

This may not be how all were told but after 3 months I was told I could try anything in moderation and make sure to chew. If it doesn't sit well now wait a few months and try again.

Thank you for your reply. I'm just tired of not being able to eat a wider range of foods. I feel like I eat the same thing over and over.

You can eat anything after the first three months.

Thank you. I've been afraid to even try to eat a boiled egg or an orange or apple. You all have been a help to me.

That really makes sense. Thank you! I'm ready to start experimenting now. ?

I had an apple during year two after surgery, but waited at least one more year before trying an orange. I really was not comfortable eating many foods for the first five years. I still try a small amount of a new food to see if there are any weird reactions.

I should do like you, try one food at a time. Thank you.

I agree with everyone else. At this far out, no food is restricted as long as you can tolerate it.
