Well, there were Manhattan's and a cheese tray during Happy Hour and by the time that the New Year's Eve food came out I had no space left.

Hiya all!

Hope everybody had a great holiday and a good start to a healthy new year.

QJB - good luck on your first day at your new job!

I'm back after a 10-12 days hiatus. We had a great time with both kids home. It was raining most of the time they were here, but we were able to squeeze in a few hikes and beach walks in between the storms. Other than that we just laid low and enjoyed each other's company. Both kids left on the 30th to spend new year with their friends; I get the message, we are not cool enough. I am just grateful we had the kids home for xmas.

Now that I am done with the positive side of the holidays let me share the negative.


This has been me since 12/21...eating chocolate, cookies, xmas crack, panettone, etc. like there is no tomorrow. And the scale shows it. I finally weighed this morning to keep myself accountable and devise a plan of action for all the damage occurred during the last 10 days. I'm sure it will take at a minimum 10 months to repair the 10 days of indulgence. But I am grateful I am battling a 8 lb gain instead of where I was 5 years ago. I am looking at the half full glass and rolling up my sleeves for hard work and a great start of the year.

QOTD: I do 6 days a week and first thing in the morning. I read somewhere that you need to start working out before your brain wakes up and comes up with excuses. In the old days that I was actually at the office I would use the gym during lunch hr if no meetings were scheduled.

My meals yesterday:

  • B: bullet coffee
  • L: scrambled eggs + cheese
  • S: hb egg
  • D: egg drop soup
  • E: have not worked out since 12/21. It will change TODAY!

Remember Newly gained weight is way easier to loose than weight that has been with you for awhile. You will loose this in no time and your menu looks great. Good luck my friend. I'll be battling with you.

I am with you girl - it was a free for all for a bit there! I agree with the exercise excuse thing. In the morning I just do it, in the afternoon there are a million reasons...
