What were the first 'exercises' you did when you were still over 400 lbs

I I want to be active like I was when I was playing high school basketball, but my joints hurt at this weight. What were the first 'exercises' you did when you were still over 400 lbs?

If you have access to an indoor pool water exercises are great as the water takes the pressure off of joints. If not you either get hand weights or use canned vegetables to do arm exercises. Youtube have a bunch of different videos for people who are unable to do exercises in the traditional way.

I don't know but I believe swim could really useful.
