If diet drugs worked, surgeons would be out of business. The only thing that will end up lighter is your wallet. Save your money.

Exercise isn't going to help either. The only thing that is going to get rid of extra weight is eating less. I know, it's hard to do, but it really is the only answer?

I was never on omeprazole for a day. So saying that all RNYers can't go a day without it is misleading for those who don't know better. It's very rare for an RNYer to need an acid reducer. RNY cures GERD. Sleevers, on the other hand, usually need the PPI.

At the first local meeting I went to, they went around the room asking what surgery you had, when, and how much you'd lost. One woman said she'd lost 190 pounds from RNY 6 years prior. A newbie said "That's great, but why did you stop there?"

You really, really need to do better with fluids. Burning fat requires a lot of extra fluid, healing requires extra fluid. You will be constantly exhausted until you drink more. There really is no rwason at this point to have to go to the hoital to get hydrated. Try hot, cold, flavored. Popsicles, jello. Make it your number one job. Everything else will follow that.

The biggest reason for kidney stones is not drinking enough. After surgery our kidneys work overtime processing all the fat we burn, which is partly why we need to drink more than usual.

Calcium carbonate can cause stones too. Another good reason to make sure we take calcium citrate, not carbonate.

I don't think it's a lack of padding. When it hurt the most, I still had more than enough padding. But It seems like the difference is, at our biggest, the padding is firm. After losing a bunch, the padding is floppy. It's the squishy padding that makes it hurt. After being at a stable weight, things redistribute and firm up some, and it hurts less. At least, that's my take on it.

I mentioned a couple of things on the VSG board, but will add another thought here.

There were a couple of things I could do better when I was huge. Sheer mass can do some things that strength, stamina, or agility alone can't. You can be the strongest man alive, but if you weigh 160 pounds, you'll never be an NFL lineman. You need to be strong AND huge.

But for everything else, I can do far, far more at 185 pounds than I could at 475, or 300, or even a mere 250. Your husband should look at the big picture. Life is better, no question about it.

Anything can happen, but you had surgery so long ago that I wouldn't worry about the WLS part. But if you think you damaged something, you should have it checked out. It'm much more likely something that anyone would injure -- like a bad bruise, or a cracked rib -- rather than your pouch.

I'm not a lady, or even lady-like. So, for what it's worth:

I've never been picked up either. I never even considered it, so wasn't afeaid. It sounds like fun though, if someone wants to give it a try.

There is no waiting period after surgery, but they prefer you wait until after you've been discharged. It caused me a bit of pain, but only because the needle from the IV was still in my arm.

There's rwally nothing to be afraid of. See how things go, and if they don't feel right, stop. The same advice applies to pretty much everything in life.

Bariatric Fusion multivitamins are crap. They only have 25% of most vitamins and minerals. Other brands like Bariatric Advantage, Celebrate, or Centrum have 100% across the board. 2 of any of those gets you to the 200% we should be getting. You'd need EIGHT Bariatric Fusion multis every day to hit 200%. And that makes them far, far more expensive than other brands.

The only way they are specially formulated is to increase their profits.

I would bet my house that you will end up needing other thinfs, especially additional B12, D3, and iron. No multi has everything that we need.

Topic: RE: Fusion Vitamins

The American Society For Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery recommends 200% of the RDA for vitamins and minerals. And I hate to tell you, the Bariatric Fusion products are criminally misleading. Each chewable has only 25% of most things. To get 200% of what you need you would have to take EIGHT of those multivitamins, each and every day. Taking comparable chewables from Celebrate or Bariatric Advantage, or locally available Centrum, you would only need TWO per day.

So the pricing is really not comparable either. Taking the Bariatric Fusion 8 times a day is really, really, really expensive.

It bugs the living crap out of me that they prey upon people by sticking Bariatric in their name. They are expensive as well as crappy, and there is no way you will be able to keep up with 8 per day. Don't reward them by buying their product. Please choose a better brand.
