I had a friend *****fused to eat it because he thought it was mayonnaise based. So I made it once. It's literally a bazillion cloves of garlic in a food processor and you drizzle in lemon juice and vegetable oil, alternating, until it's whipped up!

"No Pants Day" cracked me up!

You two look smashing, QJB and Grim! Im so glad the party went off without a hitch.

I'm spending the day doing some advising for a start-up (the app Hadley, which lets you contribute to educational 529s) and I promised I'd take the kids up to the pool. It's been heinously hot and humid here for over a week, and will randomly thunder or sprinkle so we shall see how today turns out. Our pool is so ridiculous - even if there is a tiny of rumble one time, and no lightning, they force everyone out of the pool for 45 minutes. First world problems, I know!

QOTD: I'd be a nugget ice maker

B: cream of wheat

L: salad with lettuce and cucumber and pepperoncini and salmon and burrata

D: TJs shawarma chicken with whipped garlic spread and hummus. Yummm

Grim, thank you for the pissed off queen face! It's perfectly paired with quite the bouffant! You had the perfect 80s hair, QJB!

I highly recommend the site zeelool for glasses! When you get your prescription ask them to meausre your pupillary distance (it's either a number like 70 (35 each eye) or it's two separate numbers. You can order prescription glasses, thinned, anti-reflective glare, all the extras...for about $100 each. They are awesome.

I'm impressed! I'd eat a gummy and take a Benadryl and get in bed at 6 pm if I had to leave at 2 am! But I hear ya on timing the NYC traffic. DC is the same way. A drive Can be half an hour or 2.5 hours, depending on time of day.

Let's be honest - you're just excited to go work with weird tools around a group of other tools people! Toolworkers? Toolies? Do y'all have a name?

Wow QJB! Im impressed with your output yesterday! Damn girl! Also, you're leaving on your road trip at 2 am?! I've never left that early. Get the Diet Coke and QJB sized Yeti queued up!

Im in New Jersey for a quick visit with a friend and her husband. Today we are going to the Jersey Shore! I'm so excited to just go relax under an umbrella all day. We had SO much fun yesterday. I mean, is this not evidence of being middle aged? We went to a Greek place for lunch and shared like 7 things, then went to Costco (I splurged on Dungeness crab) and Total Wine, and came home and sat out back and caught up. Her husband is a trained chef so dinner was crab and asparagus salad and fettuccine with shrimp and garlic and shallot. Yummo.

QOTD: i worked at the Volkswagen headquarters in marketing from 2002-2010 and was fiercely loyal. I left there with a VW that was a total city car - low mileage and lots of dents. Prior to that my family had lots of Hondas and in college I leased a Toyota Corolla (for price). Now I'm driving an older model Mercedes. Maybe I could be a Mercedes person if I weren't allergic to such high car payments haha. Not sure what my next car will be. But I agree that most people stay with their car brand. Being from Detroit many of my friends work in automotive and stick to their brand, that's for sure.

Todays eats are pretty unplanned. We have some crab and some Greek food leftover so I'm assuming that's breakfast. Lunch will be at the shore. Dinner tbd. Maybe on the way home?

Late post for me! OMG that meme resembles me so hard. I methodically think about and plan food ugh. As has been said so many times before, if only they could do surgery on our brains!

Two long road trips stand out to me. The first was my senior year of college - me and 3 friends drove from Ithaca, NY to Panama City Beach for spring break. No one else could drive a stick so I had to drive the entire way!!! OMG we were broke and stayed at the sketchiest and dirtiest motel. The memories. The second was a summer during college. My best friend from high school's sister had moved to Little Rock with her boyfriend and they had a spectacular breakup. Her parents let us use their car (a Durango, so, super fancy to us with our beaters!) to drive from Detroit to Little Rock to then haul a U-haul of her stuff back. We felt so free! We had nice wheels and we got to go through parts of the country (like Memphis and Little Rock) that we had never seen. I have such fun memories of that trip!

I seriously have a busy few days coming up. Lots of plans with lots of people!

B: Leftover ground turkey taco meat with cheese - yum

L: Hmmm for some reason I am way unplanned. And we ran out of the Boars Head chicken yesterday. The kids will have pb&j and for some reason, though I haven't had that in about 20 years, that sounds really good to me!

D: We have all 3 kiddos tonight - they fly to Orlando to stay with their grandparents tomorrow! So I made their grandma's mac and cheese and I am making chicken tenders and we will have salad. We will also do an early celebration of Father's Day.

Have a fantastic day y'all!

Helloooo menu peeps! I'm back home and readjusting to my own bed and schedule which is nice. I slept 9 hours last night - I think my body is trying to make up for pretty crap sleep the week I was gone.
QOTD: nope - just cats and dogs for me my whole life. I would like backyard chickens so I could have farm fresh eggs with those orange yolks but not enough to actually house and feed them!

We are sending the kiddos to FL with the grandparents on Friday so I'll start the laundry, packing list, drag out the suitcases etc today at some point.

B: They were out of Ever Roast chicken at the deli! The horror! The amazing woman let me taste a few others and I decided on a deli chicken I think called flamin? It tastes like it was grilled on the grill. Not a bad second option. I'll have that with some Colby Jack cheese.

L: May be the same actually. I guess i need to make a plan.

D: taco night! A day late but oh well. Made with ground turkey.

E: I've been abysmal lately. I have to get back into a routine.

Have a most wonderful midweek day all!

I like to mash hard boiled eggs into my cottage cheese and add a liberal amount of everything but the bagel spice. I may have to bring that back into the rotation. Also known as, "Emiepie Egg Salad!"

A friend recently texted that she?s putting cottage cheese into the food processor with a packet of ranch seasoning and it?s delish!

Good Monday morning, peeps!

Awww QJB, I am so sorry that Grim caught the yuck. Man colds are worse than regular colds LOL. I hope he's on the mend ASAP because it sucks to feel bad. I will be crossing my fingers and also pressing my thumbs (the German version of crossing fingers, and I think it's adorable).

I had a mostly fab weekend. I was visiting my parents, living that retiree life. Lots of murder shows, dog park visits, meals, and laughter. We even went to a neighbor's who is crafty and made bracelets. It was unexpectedly fun. We fly home tonight and naturally they are calling for thunderstorms, gusty winds, and a tiny possibility of hail. Pray for me. I will be popping a Xanax for sure since I am a **** flyer on the best of days. While my mind KNOWS that planes don't fall out of the sky, my mind also knows that THIS IS THE FLIGHT THAT WILL BE DIFFERENT lololol. I'm crazy, I am well-aware.

QOTD: I have a spontaneous spirit and I am always up for whatever, but I am a planner by nature. I am always the trip planner (well, except when traveling with PartlyPollyana who just simply rocks at it so I went along with the flow!) but I am the type to do allllll the research, create a spreadsheet of things we COULD do, or things we COULD see, or restaurants that seem amazing, and then let the days play out as they play out. I just don't like to go to a new city or country with no clue of what to do and see :) I would say 99% of my friends and family appreciate my approach. But maybe they ***** about me behind my back ha ha.

B: Pine nut hummus with wheat thins. We bought this and my parents don't eat it so I felt the responsibility.

L: Hmmm either a turkey sandwich here (if the boars head is still good) or maybe potbelly at the airport if not

D: I may pick up some BBQ at a place on the way home - grab some smoked chicken and ribs and then that can be dinner for the whole fam.

I miss my DH and DS (I have one DD with me) but I really, really, really miss my CAT!

Have a wonderful start to the week!

Oh nooo! Sorry to hear you're under the weather. Not fun! I am glad you had a good day chilling and hopefully todays schoolwork won't be too onerous.

I had myself a delightful weekend. I reconnected with some friends, got two new chairs for our family room, did painting class, went to brunch, heard a sonic boom!!!

QOTD: pleading the 5th! Lol! Nothing recent by any means but I'm not gonna lie, my 20s and early 30s i was less smart and more daring. Ha. I've never done heroin or killed anyone or anything. You won't see me pop up on Forensic Files, I promise!

And snark with friends can be fun!

B: wegmans roast Turkey, pepper Jack cheese

L: spicy tuna roll

D: I think leftover pasta with ground turkey meat sauce, more sauce than noodles, and a side salad

Have a most fabulous Monday all!

There were no samples thank god. Because I have seen that too many times and it's super road rage inducing!

Fun fact: Grim gets road rage and if they have to pass and the person is on QJBs side, she pumps her tiny fist on his behalf! Now that's love

Good morning, all! I'm off of a wonderful weekend - made wonderful by QJB and Grim! Our 4 hour lunch went by way too quickly. Then I made the horrible choice to go to COSTCO. On a holiday weekend! The crowd was a nightmare. Pro tip: if you're in a packed store with a 3 foot wide cart, don't just stop mid step to read text messages. I swear, people lack common sense!

QOTD: I use the notes app on my phone for various lists. What I need at the grocery, books I want to download when I have time, etc. At work I'm horrified to report that I use a running Google doc. I know I should use One Note or something but...

B: andouille chicken sausage

L: ever roast chicken and Mayo and havarti cheese on one piece of bread

D: an impossible burger that I had DH smoke on the grill - yummy. With ketchup and Dijon mustard and spicy pickles. No bun. Maybe a side but we will see how hungry I am.

Have a wonderful day all!

You forgot to mention how filthy the back hallway and kitchen and storeroom areas were! Passing through this deli is pretty much a business killer!

That was seriously SO weird.

Now we know why it was only $6, I suppose!

Good morning QJB! Sounds like a fun day planned but DON'T OVERDO IT! Maybe bake like 4 dozen cookies, not 117!

QOTD: when I was younger I had to wash and condition every day because my hair got oily. One hairdresser told me my hair was oily because I was washing it so much it was creating oil! So I scaled back and now I wash and condition twice a week. I don't even wet it in between. I use some insanely expensive but yummy smelling and effective shampoo and conditioner by Pureology, but the huge $50 bottle lasts me like a year so why not. I sometimes wonder if twice a week is too little but the answers above make me think I'm not disgusting haha. I do have to shower every single day. I can't remember the last time I didn't shower. Even on a lazy day when I'm going nowhere, I will shower and put on new pajamas haha.

Great news - my colonoscopy and endoscopy were a success. My stomach looks good - No burgeoning marginal ulcer or anything of the sort. They want me back in 5 years.

Yeesh I'm low on food here. I'm going to Costco tomorrow. Todays menu will be a hodge podge of things from the freezer. I have olive bites and chicken sausage and chicken wontons and impossible burgers. Dinner will be out with my mentor - we are doing Mediterranean small plates. I see labneh and hummus and shish taouk in my future. All of grim's favorite foods LOL!

Some doctors allow some food the day before. Honestly it was the effect of the SuTab pills that were worst than the fasting! Can't wait til this is far in the rear view mirror.

oh I agree, the haves have more and more and more and more while the have nots have less. The real crime here is how my company's CEO has $540,000,000 in shares of my company.

I am Sooo glad the swelling is going down, Julia! Stay off of it! You're probably like me where you jump up and go "I'm fine!" And immediately overdo it. I'll ask Grim to chain you to the basement radiator if you don't continue to relax!

QOTD: Not to be all "grim" about it but I don't think we are in for a zombie apocalypse. I am far more worried about a civil war between the rich and the poor. And just bad behaviors by humans in general. And yet still, no plan.

What's on my menu today....FOOD! I haven't eaten since Sunday since my colonoscopy and endoscopy is in 3 hours. I had to do my first prep from 6-9 and then went to bed and set the alarm for 3 am to do prep #2. I haven't figured out what I'm eating the second I get home but I'm hungrrrrry. Yesterday was chicken broth and lemonade only. Maybe olive bites from TJs I still have in the freezer!

I may even treat myself to pizza for dinner.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday. Hey, it is better than Monday!
