Hey ladies (no offense men, but this is only women's clothing!) - I used to get clothes online at the Limited's plus-size sister store Eloquii. Well, they went out of business but now they are BACK! And no longer part of the Limited! Their clothes are so stylish and cute, and even though I am dropping in sizes monthly, I may get a few basics from here as time goes by. Check out their site! http://www.eloquii.com

My advice to anyone getting surgery is to make sure their house is spotless so they come home to a clean house :) I am the same way! That's right, you're off to San Antonio this weekend, or El Paso? Hope it's a great trip!
If you like peanut butter fudge, order the Bariatric Advantage calcium citrate chews in peanut butter chocolate. 500 mg of calcium and delicious for 15 calories!

What a great idea to make mini meat loafs! I always make one whole one and then I slice it into 8 pieces and I end up having to freeze a couple of them. And then they get freezer burn. Ugh. Enjoy your turkey burger - that's my lunch too :)

Grrrrl I hear you! I get so bored and in a rut. Thanks for the new link! I have big plans for Saturday afternoon after going for a hike with a friend and her dog. New food, food prep! So that next week everything is made and new and delicious :) Hopefully that will be reflected in a non-boring daily post :) You get such bang for your buck when it comes to calories and protein. But you know your new NUT wants you to increase your calories...just have to throw that out there! (LOL like you need another mother, right?! ha ha)

Hey Candy - omg thanks for checking in! You are so absolutely right - I cannot believe I forgot that I need two Citrical petites each dose, and one BA chew. Do you recommend 3 petites in the morning and 3 petites at lunch and one chew at night? My first month post-op I was on the wrong calcium so I absolutely want to get this right. I am a very smart person - not sure why I am struggling with vitamins! Duh! So thanks for the reminder/tips. (just swallowed two petites which are not actually all that petite lol).
That's so awesome that you can maintain without counting. I am not sure I will ever get to that point. But if I have to use MFP for the rest of my days, I am ok with that. So awesome that you are maintaining so well - you inspire the rest of us in the weight loss stage!

WOW what a transformation! You look amazing! I start with a trainer in about two weeks. I can't wait. I'm in DC too - add me on MFP - eawilson21. Curious what your diet will look like this far out (I am 9.5 weeks out). Thanks! Emily

Good morning, OH friends! I've heard from a few of you that you like the energy and optimism of the string on these posts - but that's all you! My energy comes from following my plan, losing weight, exercising, and having an incredible support group of people who were initially strangers on the internet but are becoming friends! Thanks for participating with ideas and recipes on this thread everyday. I LOVE going to a meeting and getting back to my desk and seeing that y'all have commented. And because of you guys I now have the ingredients for Oopsie bread, am gonna make turkey meatballs ONE OF THESE DAYS and have some awesome ideas for cauliflower. Nothing I would have thought of before.
Time Since Surgery: 9.5 weeks
B: Egg whites, american cheese, turkey bacon (poor planning, had to go to deli in my building) UGH. I told them no oil but it's not as healthy as if I measured it out at home
L: Leftovers from last night (ended up going out with friends) - 1/3 turkey burger, one slice avocado, 3 pickles (don't you love how a turkey burger - no bun, no fries - is now 3 meals???)
S: Premier Protein shake or I will NEVER make my protein today
D: TBD - potentially tuna tartare
This would be around 650 calories, 73 g of protein, 28 g of fat, 18 g of carbs
E: 2 miles on the treadmill at 3.0 mph. I start with my trainer in a couple of weeks! ARG! I am excited!
V: Yes, yes, yes. I am doing a chewable multi morning and night, a vitamin D pill at night, and 3 calciums a day. Two Citrical petites that I swallow for breakfast and lunch, and at night my "dessert" is a Bariatric Advantage caramel 500 mg chew. YUM!
What's on your menu today?

Wow, that is AMAZING! Can I ask how much you weighed at surgery? For example if you weighed 195, that's a much different story than if you weighed 395! I know we can't compare ourselves to each other, but your 47 lbs in a month is insanely awesome. Any tips or tricks as to what you are eating? How much exercise are you getting?

OMG I was only on full liquids (protein shakes, yogurt, sugar free jello)) for two weeks pre-op and two weeks post-op. And I was SOOO happy to have food after one month, so cheers to you for going 6 weeks!!! I haven't had a ricotta bake but I have seen rave reviews so I am in! I had egg salad and tuna salad on day one and it was HEAVEN!

I have to microwave the spinach and then wring it out to get all the liquid out. A whole package is too much for 24 little bites, for sure. You can even FREEZE bites and have them the following week :)

Oh awesome! Whenever someone comes to visit, I say "Have you been to DC except for a school trip in 5th grade?" LOL
Hotels - whenever my family comes, I put them in hotels (so as not to drive me insane). I usually look at hotels.com to see what hotels have deals. I often put them at the Dupont Circle Hotel (right on the circle, super swanky and boutiquey but affordable! Great bar!) or the Churchill Hotel. It's really central and you're right on the red line or can take a bus anywhere you need to go! That's awesome that you loved it here :) One downfall to living here is the plethora of amazing restaurants!!! Luckily I can always find a protein, but our lifestyle is definitely to go out and be social in the evenings. Ugh!
Your new life sounds absolutely so different and I am so glad you enjoy it!

I got a pedicure on Monday and it was such a joyful and peaceful hour :) I hope your nail appt is the same! I totally count coffee towards my liquid. I mean, if I drink a 10 oz of coffee, I figure that's a liquid? I generally only have one per day...you should ask Topher, because he drinks a "**** ton-metric" of coffee lol

Thanks for sharing the recipe! I love getting recipes on here!

I am on a total leftover day too. Dinner may be the exact same as lunch since I don't want to waste the deli turkey I bought. At least it's quick and easy! And if I pan sauté a piece of cheese and wrap it around the turkey, it is quite warm and delicious. Your leftovers sound good so hopefully you enjoy the menu today :)

Try to find the Nasoya pasta zero plus chickpea flour noodles in the refrigerated section - that way you can have "pasta" and meatballs with your family while they have regular noodles :) I love turkey and cheese whether it's for breakfast lunch or dinner! I used to love sweet coffee but I have transitioned to a tiny bit of half and half and two Splendas :) Your egg bites sound awesome. Enjoy the rest of your day! Hopefully you can get to bed early :)

Hey Spots-n-Dots! That's awesome you used to live here! It is a really fun city. Much warmer than OH as well (I am originally from MI so I understand winter). I'm sorry to hear you have pneumonia. Whenever I am sick and can't eat much, I think of it as a good kickstart to weight loss lol. I have to find one positive! I hope you feel better, and don't run back and forth with the animals too much, since I know you guys have some snow!

Do you not eat sushi? My NUT said to only eat raw fish at a reputable place since our stomachs make less acid and we may be more susceptible to food borne illness, but I have been eating raw tuna since 2.5 weeks post op :) With soy and wasabi. No rice of course, but it's packed with protein!

Awesome! I had the same experience - went home the day after surgery and never had much pain and have had zero complications. Keep your spirits up! I am down 15% of my body weight (not excess weight - BODY weight) in less than 10 weeks. The first few weeks of liquids are tough but you are going to feel so amazing! SOOOOO amazing! Congratulations and welcome to the other side!!!

You look TOTALLY amazing!!! What an inspiration :) I love red too (it's in my avatar picture). But I certainly can't rock a dress like you can! One day, maybe :)

I have found that I love kale chips! Preheat oven to 350. On a tray, lay parchment paper. Cover it with kale leaves (small pieces). Spritz with olive oil. Season it with season salt or crushed red pepper or whatever you like. Bake for 13-15 minutes. It's crunchy and delicious - and you can snack on it like you are having popcorn or chips :)

Man you guys were off the charts yesterday with great menu ideas and inspiration! I loved it! Keep it coming! And for more inspiration, it's going to be almost 60 in DC today so (hopefully) Spring is around the corner!!!
My menu today is so boring. Leftovers for breakfast and lunch, TBD for dinner.
B: Egg beaters, crab, light cheddar cheese, artichoke, spinach, garlic, onion quiche (2 oz.)
L: 2 oz Boar's Head blackened turkey, babybel cheese
S: Premier Protein shake
D: ??? I am racking my brain as to what is in my fridge and honestly I am not prepared! I didn't make the turkey meatballs last night - my drinks date was at a Spanish tapas restaurant and it ran long so I ate two shrimp with garlic, and about 1 oz of goat and maybe 2 oz of manchego cheese.
Tell me, what's on your menu today? And thanks for the ideas about the cauliflower bake, turkey meatballs, bean salad, and more from yesterday!

Awesome day for you-Zumba is an ass kicker so to add elliptical?! Well you earned that filet mignon!

Today wasn't quite on track?! It looks pretty awesome to me :)

Haha if you read through the post I think a good number of us eat dinner for breakfast :) Cauliflower bake sounds great! I'm gonna put cauliflower to use in my life - I have big plans for pizza crusts and fake rice :) Your menu sounds seriously awesome. Thanks for sharing the links!

Egg face bites to the rescue! I love starting my day with them :)
