What a sweet hubby, Annie! That's awesome :) And the fact that you woke up and ran 5 miles is ALSO awesome. Seeing all you runners on here, I wonder if I will ever be a runner! You are back on track re: snacks I see - awesome menu. Have the pickles helped? The crunch is very satisfying to me. I also love Chipotle. One burrito bowl lasts me 4 meals and I still have some to throw away (without rice and beans even!). San Antonio should be warm, hopefully? I also hate to throw away food! We will get to see you have all sorts of weird combinations this week as you go through the fridge lol.

It's an awesome tool for sure. And planning is key! I mean, that's how I can post my daily food at like 10 am Eastern time lol. Cuz I have planned every bite for the day! WOW once month out and still on full liquids? I didn't have a pureed stage - went from full liquids to food after two weeks. Think how good it will feel to have something that is not a protein shake :) What is your "first" meal? Mine was egg salad and then tuna salad. Both with light mayo and spices. They tasted awesome. And with a two week pre-op and two week post-op liquid diet (the month I didn't chew, is how I refer to it) I was pretty happy!

I have yet to discover new bones, but I am excited at the prospect! Awesome NSV :)

Wow, Regina! Thanks! That is so nice to say. At 299 I don't feel like an inspiration but this whole site is so inspiring...there are so many people just kicking ass and maintaining healthy weights. I so appreciate [most of] the people on here lol. I like the advice, success stories, and straight talk. You're almost to your surgery date, right? This will be you in a couple of months!

Hey Joan! You're halfway there :) It's nice you're home today at least so you can do some cooking. White chicken chili sounds great. Perfect for a cold and snowy day!

Thanks, Pam! Yes "Twoville" is a great place to live :) I couldn't tell anyone else in my life (though the internet is a pretty public place I suppose) so it's wonderful to be able to "celebrate" here on OH! I swear though, sometimes I still feel placebo! Like when Pet Hair Magnet can't fit a whole cheese stick almost one year out. I can EASILY eat a cheese stick lol. But yes, I suppose losing 51 lbs in 9 weeks means there was actually a surgery done lol.
Let me know what you think of the crusty thing. It's freaking delicious. If I weren't at the office today, that's how I would be eating my turkey!
I actually prefer working out when it's cold. Since I get so sweaty. But I know it's hard to motivate. I didn't do any exercise all weekend. And my trusty FitBit reports to me that I walked like .8 miles yesterday total. Considering my goal is 4 miles, that's not great! So you're not alone. We are gonna get up to the 60s later this week, thankfully. And I have a work trip to Mexico and a personal trip to Puerto Rico next month, so at least I know I will feel the sun on my face at some point soon! Have a great day too!

Thank you :) Yum on the taco meat. I have ground turkey in the fridge to cook - since it's a 20 oz package I usually cook it and then partition it into 7 containers...some with taco seasoning and light mexican cheese, some with a little spaghetti sauce :) Roasted brussels sprouts with shallots...be still my heart. A favorite food of mine! I will pray for you on the C25K. Awesome that you are starting that. You can do it!

Awww thanks!!!! I do feel on top of the world :) Which is hilarious because 299 is not a low weight but it feels AWESOME.

Thanks!!! I am super excited, as you may have noticed lol. WOW your food plans look awesome. I may have to try your breakfast. Does that keep you full until lunch? My plan calls for 3 meals and no snacks. If I cave, it's with an afternoon snack before the gym.
And hello crab!!! I love crab! My crab quiche was stupendous.
I can so easily eat a string cheese. Is it that you can't fit that much food? JEALOUS!!!
8 mile run, that's freaking awesome. So is being in the 1s. My goal will be 199 by Christmas. Can I lose 100 lbs in 10 months? That seems like a lot but I am gonna go for it. And the most impressive is 150 ounces of liquid in a day. Damn girl...

Yes to all, except I didn't need clearance from a ton of doctors (I didn't have a sleep doctor, a cardiac doctor, etc.). It's definitely a commitment!

First, can I say that today is one of the most momentous days of my life! Post-shower, and buck naked (lol!) I weighed in at 299.8!!!! UNDER 300!!!! I will never weigh anything starting with a 3 again. Honestly, I am walking on air. I wore a suit to work (a super cute jacket that hasn't fit in quite a while) and everyone is commenting how good I look :) I think it's just the INSANE AMOUNT OF CONFIDENCE I AM GIVING OFF! Trust me, I know 299.8 lbs is not a healthy weight, but I am down from 351 lbs surgery day December 16th, so I am walking on air :)
So, thanks OH friends, for being such an awesome support!!!!
Not sure if any of you saw my post this weekend about tofu shirataki noodles and how I loooove them? (Thanks, Kenyatta!). I think I lied and I had some sort of chickpea flour noodle that is the brand Nasoya, and is called Shirataki Spaghetti. They are 15 calories and 4 g of carbs. They are in the refrigerated section at the grocery store in a bag in some smelly water. You rinse rinse rinse them, then boil them for 2 minutes, and I added them to pesto and shrimp and they were freaking delicious! Give them a try. They appear to be made from chickpea flour and not soy, however. So I don't know what they are, but they taste and feel like PASTA!
Ok, on to today's menu (sorry for the rambling):
B: 2 oz quiche from a brunch I threw yesterday - egg beaters, light cheddar cheese, crab, onion, garlic, artichokes, spinach. DELICIOUS!
L: 3 oz Boar's Head blackened turkey breast, one Babybel cheese round
D: Leftover whatever-the-hell shirataki noodles and shrimp and pesto
S: Premier Protein shake before gym
E: 2 miles on the treadmill at 3.0 mph
V: Slacking here - ran out of calcium and snow delayed my amazon shipment :( Should arrive today!
W: Always do 70+ oz
This will get me to 634 calories, 22 g of fat, 15 g carbs, 92 g of protein!
What's on your menu? Happy Presidents Day! (BTW I live in DC and my company is open grrrr)

I generally have to have one shake a day and it's often my snack. I like to have "food" (ie something chewable for b, l and d. But before the gym I will have a cheese stick or maybe a hard boiled egg. And then after the gym I may have a shake. I don't eat dinner until 7:30 or so and lunch is noon and the gym is 5 or 6 and that's a long time to go without food! Luckily a lot of people on here have snacks so I convince myself it's ok :)

My NUT mandates 3 meals and no snacks! I can't get enough protein that way, plus I need a snack when I workout so I generally sneak one snack a day. Isn't it crazy how plans vary?

Ok, so I was showing these off to a friend of mine today and he pointed out that they are made with chickpea flour. So maybe I don't like tofu shirataki! These are the brand "Nasoya" and they are called "shirataki spaghetti" and in a yellow box it says "PASTA ZERO plus". But the ingredients are: water, konjac flour, chickpea flour, potato starch, calcium hydroxide, reduced iron, folic acid.
They are 0 fat, 0 egg, 0 gluten, 0 dairy. Only 15 calories and 4 g of carbs for 4 oz.
Perhaps these aren't tofu shirataki and are chickpea shirataki???
Here is a link to the product. I loved them! http://www.nasoya.com/products/pasta-zero-shirataki-spaghett i

Sure! I bought Wegman's brand this time. Here is a link to their nutrition. When I just eat shrimp I use 1 tbsp...last night I used about 1.5 to cover the shrimp and "noodles" http://www.wegmans.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisp lay?storeId=10052&catalogId=10002&langId=-1&partNumber=ITEM_ 503133

Susan! You SO did not blow it! Staying on plan and losing over 100 lbs in one year is a massive success!!! You slipped up, you realized it wasn't good and you have readjusted to her back on plan and keep on keepin' on! Please don't be so hard on yourself. Have you read all the posts here of people saying "I have been eating tons of carbs and so many calories since the holidays and I don't know what to do!"? You had some candy and now you will detox from the sugar tomorrow. Some people would argue that as close as you are to your goal weight, a slip-up is actually allowed. But you know what you need to do to reach your goals and I have every confidence in you that you will!

We had similar starting weights! Everyone loses at a different rate so I just refuse to compare. It's hard when someone says "100 lbs lost at 6 months" because I start calculating lol. But you're down 40 lbs which is amazing!!!!
i have been using Gold Bond healing lotion with aloe. It's pricier than others but is not greasy and works! I swear if I don't put it on my legs I look like an alligator :)
Im keeping my carbs to around 20 per day whenever possible, and maximum 40 g in a day. When I look at those who took advantage of the first 12 months of honeymoon time (easiest to lose), I would say a majority of them ate low carb. This is not the advice of my doctor or my NUT but this is what I have chosen and it's working for me :) No potatoes no pasta no bread no rice :) Which are, incidentally, all of my favorite foods lol. But I'm going to try making oopsie bread and cauliflower pizza crust and I'm a convert to tofu shirataki noodles and I did this surgery for my health so I am going to maximize and embrace my new eating habits :)
Anyway I think you're doing awesome so far so keep on with your plan!

Don't tell him they are tofu and make sure you use a delicious sauce-see if he even notices! Honestly I wouldn't have known they were low carb tofu noodles :)

I am literally drinking my protein hot chocolate right now! I microwaved 8 oz of unsweetened almond milk and in a separate container I whisked a bit of room temp water with the protein powder and the Swiss miss diet and the Splenda package. Once the milk was mostly warm, I poured in the sludge and whisked constantly. Then I added a shot of Da Vinci sugar free mint syrup. Yum! It's not as hot as I would like it but it's an extra 20 g of protein today :)
i looove avocado too and won a guacamole contest at work last year :) Our C-level executives were the judges. It was a proud moment lol!

Nasoya is the brand and it's called Pasta Zero Plus. Harris Teeter had them. I think it's key to rinse and boil and then pan "fry". Honestly I feel so happy because a life without pasta was kinda bleak (but necessary for me because carbs beget carbs and I cannot control myself around noodles!). Maybe give these another try? I mean, if my non-WLS friend got excited about these and enjoyed them, perhaps it has to do with brand? Good luck, Pam!

One week away!!! How exciting! I remember being in your shoes. Surgery was all I could think about but I knew it was going to go well, and it did! See my first reply above for shake ideas :) You are so close-your life is about to change in the most amazing way! Good luck and post surgery come share your menu ideas with us!!!

Ceithlenn!!! A 6 minute mile?! That is amazing! Also your numbers look good to me but clearly I need to up my protein because some of you that get 90+ g a day are putting me to shame!!! Your menu looks really delicious today!

You look amazing!!!! What an inspiration you are! You should be so proud of your accomplishment. All of us on here know it's not easy and you are an awesome success story! Keep posting on here to inspire all of us newbies who are trying to follow in your footsteps!

Congratulations!!! That is something to seriously celebrate!!! I am 302.8 so I'm right behind you! We got this!

Ok so I have seen these "noodles" on many peoples menus and tonight I tried them for the first them. I am OBSESSED! I love them! So you buy them in the refrigerated section at the grocery store and they come in a bag in fluid. It smells, I gotta be honest. So as per the directions on the bag, I rinsed them well. Three times lol. Then I put them in a bowl of fresh water and put them in the microwave for 3 minutes. In the meantime I was cooking shrimp in a sauté pan. When the microwave sounded, I took the noodles out, poured off all the water, and added them to the pan. I added pesto in as my sauce and stirred it all up for a minute or two. I then put maybe 2 Oz of the noodles and maybe 5 shrimp into a bowl and sprinkled some grated Parmesan cheese on top. Honestly they tasted just like noodles!!! I did not find them rubbery or smelly. They absorbed the pesto taste and I truly felt like I was having pasta!!! And a 4 Oz serving has 20 calories, 3 g of carbs and 1 g of protein. I served them to a friend and they loved them too! I am such a pasta lover and I feel like these noodles give me such a satisfying base for meat sauce or whatever! I know I'm going to get some comments that they are terrible, but try them for yourselves! It's all about the preparation (rinsing, boiling, pan cooking). Sooooo worth it, in my opinion!
And they have macaroni noodles, fettuccine noodles, spaghetti and angel hair. I can see some low carb Mac and cheese as a special great when I make century club :)
Sorry for my exuberance-I'm just pretty much ecstatic!
