I posted it above. It is probably one of my favorite recipes. Super easy to make, rewarms awesome. I freeze mine in single portion in ziploc bags and take it to work. Helps keep me on my program. You can also find it on pinterest. It is a Trim Healthy Mama recipe

I make half this recipe and then cut it into 8 pieces. It freezes great and I LOVE it.

Lazy Lasagna

FEEDS 6 TO 8 (HALVE INGREDIENTS IF YOUR FAMILY IS SMALLER)

  • 2 pounds ground meat (beef and venison work well)
  • 2 (12-ounce) jars no-sugar-added pizza or spaghetti sauce
  • 1½ tablespoons dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon Mineral Salt
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 (10-ounce) packages frozen chopped spinach, thawed
  • 1 (8-ounce) package 1/3 less fat cream cheese
  • 1 (14-ounce) container 1% cottage cheese
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 (8-ounce) piece part-skim mozzarella cheese, grated
  • ¼ cup finely grated Parmesan cheese (for sprinkling over top; green can is fine)
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Brown the meat in a large skillet over high heat, then drain off any excess fat if necessary. Add the sauce and seasonings, and simmer over low heat for several minutes.
  3. Put the spinach in a colander and squeeze and push to get all the liquid out.
  4. Put the cream cheese, cottage cheese, and eggs in a food processor and process until smooth.
  5. Layer half the meat sauce in the bottom of a 9 × 13-inch baking dish. Top with half the cheese mixture, then layer on half the spinach. Follow with half the grated mozzarella. Repeat the layers, ending with the mozzarella. Top with a good sprinkling of Parmesan cheese. Bake for 40 minutes or until bubbly.

I work nights so in order to be kind of timely I will have to do deja vu posting. I will post yesterday because I am not even starting today while you guys are toodling off to sleepy land. I also dont eat meals perse because it doesnt work for my schedule. My doctor approved me deciding what I will eat for the day and then just gnoshing when I can.

I am 8 months post op as of yesterday. And I started logging on my fitness pal yesterday. I would have scanned my husband to find his nutrition count if he had one of those scanners!!!

Topic: RE: Successful habits:what are yours?

This post is a bit of a piggy back off of something Grim posted.  I want to sprint to my weight loss goal. That being said, in order to do that I have to employ the most successful habits. I think I have acquired some great ones, but I want all the great ones in my tool belt.

What are/were yours?

I am dying to be part of this thread. I feel like this is where the cool kids hang out.... But I haven't been able to figure out how you get your totals.

For example, I eat this fabulous smoked chicken and almond salad. I eat it from my 5.5 oz ramekin so I know quantity wise I am on point. I know it is checken, almond slivers, celery, some mayo and olive oil.... But how do I know the protein count? Or any count?  Do you guys measure everything?

I am getting to the point I really need the additional accountability because I am getting smaller and my loss is slowing. Today is my 8 months

I would for sure not be worried about not tolerating dense protein yet!  I think I was at about 5 months before I was able too. I would not be eating nuts yet.

At your stage I ate the hormel beanless turkey chili with cheese, eggfaces ricotta bake, low fat corned beef/roast beef hash, Wendy's chili, refried beans with cheese and shakes. Wash, rinse and repeat.

I measured every tiny thing. And focused on counting protein.

I eat Quest protein chips. I love chocolate protein shake warmed up like hot cocoa(maybe you would not hate the sweetness because it is "supposed" to be sweet). Hormel turkey chili with no beans in it.

Do you have trouble with anything that involves meat or just dense protein? I struggled with dense protein for A LONG time. But saucey things I could do.

Yes! Is refused to buy anything new until I was down 100 pounds!  I had this pair of jeans that I was terrified of... Thry were too trendy and cute. By the time I put them on, they fell right off. I think it is good to try things on... Fit or not because it gives you a more realistic view of where you are at.

Try them on!  Whats the worst that happens? They don't fit and you put them back for a week..

Topic: RE: Losing TOO much weight!

It is normal to lose weight when you are sick. But since you are closer to an average weight it looks a little different. When you weigh 300 and drop 10 for the flu you think "give me another week of this weight loss!". I think it is something we all have to get used to, what normal feels like. When you are feeling better your body will do its thing.

I am a phone rep so I get what you are saying. My doctor gave me a note saying I needed to get up and walk 5 minutes every hour. I also did not try any new foods at work!!(learned that the hard way!) I pretty much just at the same thing every day and that worked for me. I went back after 2 weeks

I cant find my paper about when you take your vitamins and calcium. My nut is not helpful at all.

Can someone remind me? I know there has to be time between them but I cant remember how much.

I also take a daily antacid if that affects the timing.

Thanks!

personally, I didnt. I felt like I had already had enough little splurges to get me to SO so I had pretty much covered everything I could want. I was gung ho to do it right and, at that point, there was nothing that was interesting to me. I think maybe my mind set was already changing, but I went in with the eat now pay later thinking and I felt like it was already time for me to be paying back.

I have to be honest, it wasnt the happy freeing experience you would have thought it would be. I was so anxious before every ride. Would I fit in? Would everyone watch the fat lady get off? Would my kids be mortified? But on the second ride on some of them it was AMAZING!!

We went to an amusement park yesterday and I rocked EVERY roller coaster. I was a nervous wreck before every one but I pushed through and got on, and FIT!!!! I cried after the first one due to anxiety release. But I made it...and didnt break the ride.
