I am lucky that I have a beautiful view from my office, Millennium Park, Grant park, Soldier Field Lake Michigan and the shore all down to Indiana.

You are doing so great, Jen. I think that you and Cassie had surgery the day that I started reading OH and I have been rooting for you two from day one.

Good morning. It snowed a bit in Chicago yesterday but didn't accumulate. I actually missed it but somebody at work told me that it had been snowing and later on I saw the pictures. I work about 60 stories off the ground and sometimes we have snow outside our windows but by the time reaches the ground it has changed to rain.

QOTD: In a few weeks I am traveling to meet my daughter and attend her school's football game. We try and attend one road game together each year. I am sure we will get pumpkins as well but the teenage boys aren't as excited about it any more.

Breakfast: eggs, turkey sausage

Snack: Greek Yogurt

Lunch: Turkey meatballs (need to go to Trader Joes

Snack: Cottage cheese

Dinner: maybe the last of the ham from last week

Have a great day all

Another late day for me. This mid-week trip kind of through me for a loop. I'm glad to be back home. Not a lot planned for the weekend other than the hockey game tomorrow night. While I was away my wife made a bunch of shrimp which my sons didn't eat, so there is a theme to my menu today.

QOTD: when there is a space between the headboard and the end of the mattress and pillows slide down into it

Breakfast: Shrimp

Snack: Light and fit yogurt

Lunch: Shrimp

Snack: shrimp, string cheese

Dinner Hamburger, Cheese

Onto the weekend.

Late post for me today. Up early and flew back to Chicago. I wish I could be involved in the AMAW/CAMAW but I'm still trying meats one by one. Next round I will definitely participate. Chicago got chilly while I was gone.

QOTD: My weight loss journey is very much beginning but I am starting to see the benefits: less medicines, smaller clothes, people noticing. Onward and Downward.

Breakfast: Omlette, sausage link

Snack: Yogurt and melon

Lunch: Shrimp

Snack:SF pudding

Dinner: Ham or more shrimp

Have a great day all.

Good morning. I am flying to Portland Oregon for a two day meeting. I have a few friends that I haven't seen in awhile in that office (or attending the meeting) so it will be nice to see them.

QOTD: A pretty literal answer here. I have been using the CPAP for about 8 months. It definitely takes longer to fall asleep than without it. On the other hand I feel much better in the morning than before I started using it. The sleep technician told me that based on the shape of my jaw and where my tongue rides in my mouth that I may not be able to get free of it even when my weight is down. I guess we will see.

Breakfast: Turkey meatballs and cottage cheese

Snack: protein forward plane if they have it

Lunch: deli turkey

Dinner: Fish and vegetable

Have a great day all.

Reading this just reminded me that a client gave me a piece of candy today and I hid it my briefcase so he wouldn't see me not eating it. I better get it out of there before melts. Fortunately, there will be plenty of takers for it around the house.

Good morning. Its dark and rainy here in Chicago. I am tired this morning because I went to the Blackhawks game last night and then had to finish up some work afterwards. The whole weekend just flew by and I felt like could never get caught up.

QOTD: Not in maintenance but good question, its something that I wonder about.

Breakfast: Turkey meatballs and cottage cheese

Lunch: Ham, cauliflower

Snack: string cheese, SF popsicle

Good morning Cassie and everybody. I survived my first business trip after WLS. We went out to dinner Thursday night and I had part of an entree of fi**** wasn't as hard as I thought to skip wine, appetizer and dessert. But it takes so looonnnng when you aren't eating all of that food.

The flight back from San Fransisco was delayed and then diverted to Minneapolis before finally landing in Chicago. Finally got home at 2:30 last night. I can see a nap in front of football today. Other than that I am going to the gym, cleaning out my closet and cooking.

QOTD: it took me over a full year to get approved for surgery and during that time I didn't buy any clothes, just shoes, glasses, accessories. So, I'm probably closer to Liz's number than I care to admit. I really like Alan Edmonds mens shoes.

Breakfast: Scrambled eggs, turkey sausage

Snack: Cottage cheese

Lunch: Ham and riced cauliflower

Snack: SF pudding

Dinner:Ham and cauliflower

Enjoy the rainy fall weekend!

Good morning. I'm visiting a client today and then off to San Fransisco for meetings on Thursday and Friday. I probably won't post tomorrow because I don't know my password to log in on my phone. Happy to get a few days away from the commute into Chicago

QOTD: I am happy with RNY so far. I do think that I will need to start on the Miralax routine quickly. I wish I knew more about how DS worked, but that is only out of curiosity not regret.

Good morning. I am sitting here all wrapped up in blankets and its only October 1st. I can't imagine how cold I will be in the Chicago winter. For as long as I remember I had always slept on top of the bedcovers, but now I sleep wrapped in a fleece blanket under another blanket and a comforter.

This week, I have two days in the office and then one at a client and then I am making my first trip since surgery. I hope Jen is back here today so that I can get some tips on work travel.

QOTD: All manner of inappropriate wall decorations when I was in college, but I can't think of much since.

Breakfast: Turkey meatballs &cottage cheese

Lunch: Starkist tuna creations, probably something else

Snack: Volpi, SFpopsicle

Dinner: Cod and brussel sprouts

stay warm.

Happy Sunday. I got a lot done yesterday, so today will be kind of a low key day for me. I do have to do a little bit of work today. I have to speak for about 15 minutes Monday on a conference call with over 300 people so I want to prepare my remarks rather than freestyle.

QOTD: Smaller pants yesterday. I got $30 back in Kohls cash and there is a suit coat that is on clearance for $32 so I am going to go back and get it tomorrow night. Its a size smaller than what I am wearing now, but for $2 I think that I can wait.

Breakfast: omlette

Lunch: Cod with Brussel Sprouts

Snack: Cottage cheese, SF Jello

Good morning and happy Saturday! Today is my one month surgiversary. Yesterday I had my 1 month appointment with my surgeon's Nurse Practitioner. She cleared me to go back to the gym and was able to go last night. I am really starting to feel a sense of normalcy. She also gave me some wipes to get the last of the tape glue off of me. Hopefully they work. I can almost say they I am now bruise free but there is a bit of a faint lingering bruise around one of the incisions

Today I am off to get my haircut and get some smaller pants. I have a few small household maintenance items and a trip to the gym as well. Football tonight.

QOTD: All Irish. When I was in Ireland the tour guide told me where each of my four grandparents families were from by there name. The two that I knew matched.

Breakfast: Turkey sausage and cottage cheese

Snack: Greek Yogurt

Lunch: meatball and green beans

Snack: deli turkey and cheese, SF Jello and/or SF popsicles

Dinner: COD

Have a great Saturday all

Good morning, Janet. Just a few hours at work today and then off to my one month appointment. When I was in the hospital this point seemed so far away. If I get cleared to go back to the gym today I will be there tonight. When I was still hobbling around the house post-surgery both of my sons declared to my wife that they were going to start going to the gym with me when I resumed. I'm sure they thought it would be longer before I actually went back. Well they are going to be in for a surprise tonight!

Breakfast: Omelette

Snack: Deli Turkey and cheese

Lunch: Tuna Creations (hopefully Thai Chili if we have it)

Snack: SF pudding or Jello

Dinner: If the family is having something on plan I will try it otherwise my turkey meatballs green bean standby

Have a great Friday

QOTD: Definitely a physical book person. I've only listened to one audio book and it was a long time ago. Maybe I will try it next long drive

Breakfast: Turkey Sausage, Greek Yogurt

Snack: Turkey and cheese

Lunch: Tuna creations

Snack: Turkey and cheese

Dinner: Turkey meatballs and green beans unless that family is having something that works for me

Good morning all. Today is my one month nutritionist appointment. This is the fourth different nutritionist that I have seen. The one that I met with for the first five months of my six month pre-surgery program left to go to another hospital. So i had my sixth appointment with a different nutritionist at the same facility. Then I had a third one at the hospital. And now a fourth. I think that I am seeing this one because they wanted availability around the one month period. All of them have been fine to work with and the advice seems sound for bariatric patients (no white carbs, calorie levels around what others have).

QOTD: I am a CPA and have a Bachelors in Business Administration and and Masters degree in Taxation. I could have gone to law school but I would have ended upon the same place so I am glad I didn't incur the cost in time and money. I may pursue an online Masters in History in a few years but it would only be because i am a dork, not to advance my career

Breakfast: Turkey sausage

Snack: Volpi

Lunch: Chili

Snack: Cottage cheese, SF jello or pudding

Dinner: Turkey meatballs

Have a great day all.
