Well Im super impressed !! Wish I had great sewing skills like that !

300 calories is NOT ENOUGH ... seriously.

Please bite / drink whatever U can whenever U can so U dont get debilitated and possibly bed or relax-chair bound .

Iron and vitamin supplements r important too to retain Ur healthy energy level ... and 2 make Ur shrinking skin firm n youthful.

I actually found an apartment I liked on the very Northern tip of Manhattan, Inwood .

Big terrace , decent sized rooms w floor 2 ceiling windows including a corner ..nice finishes , waterview .

I want the terrace next door too dont know if landlord will agree to that for a bit more munny . But its definitely a possibility

bites of D ( while driving endlessly to appointments )

Awwww .

I had a similar situation ( but much smaller ) a few years ago when the Councilman and Town Deputy Supervisor who lives nearby ( who others have referred to as a Frenemy lol ) asked whether my non working farm truck I had parked beside the home was registered and told me it had to be.

So I regretfully sold her for scrap .. and since then have struggled w squatters and thieves repeatedly removing my lawn ornaments grrr. Betsy was a great deterrent!

More seeing apts today and doctor... calendar is overappointmented as always.

I dont know how people manage their business AND hold down an actual job ...

B- breakfast buffet- bites of egg whites w salsa, " breakfast potatoes" meaty part of bacon slices, cranberry juice ff sf coffee and tea lattes

s- ff sf yogurt

I hate that my tiny pouch makes me such a ridiculously slow eater. I also hate eating in my car and taking food w me - threw out a BUNCH yesterday . Im ashamed because so many people dont have enough money to eat properly.

I need to start applying for apartments I dont WANT so I no longer fall between the cracks . Problem is I want the impossible - great air ( in NYC ! ) central location, a huge terrace, new fixtures and a waterview ...oh and free on street parking preferably and amenities like co working spaces, a rooftop garden gym and pool lol.

I guess Im the definition of impossible customer - and Im also not trying to pay a brokers fee ( last year I paid $18,000 to move into what turned to be a horrible apartment - no heat no central air and the leaking roof made my ceiling fall down ! )

L& D tbd

Last nite - bits of Reuben sandwich ( just the meat, saurkraut , roll w pulled pork ( not fatty if you buy the right kind and throw away all light colored fatty bits before heating ) I like to include fresh herbs and sliced scallion and a bit of hot sauce too.

fat free milk w booze ( helps me nap in the car - a necessary evil since if I sleep in LI I dont get to the city till mid afternoon . )

Honestly thanks to Naltrexone my booze and wine cravings are gone and thanks probably to the Buproprion so is my appetite.

Im not a skinny- minnie but noone can call me plump either. Lost Id estimate around 10 lbs from walking around the City and strenuous gardening lol .

Its 2 in the afternoon ... day has been Very frustrating . DMV was less than impressed w my unstamped foreign passport and Social Security card offering- gotta ask a favor from Hungarian embassy mebbe this afternoon.

No meds, little energy - probably thats part of the problem and the endless days of travel and work with nothing to show for it .

Grrrr....Otherwise its a beautiful crispy/ warm in the sun fall day. 4 appointments including one w new agent for targeted apt. Would LOVE to have new passport 2 apply with but have to take a lot of steps 2 obtain that .

My Great Aunt Helen once gifted me with her very old black and ( handpainted) gold Singer sewing machine - the first electric ( not pumping foot pedal powered ) model.

These were very valuable when originally sold around the turn of the century or a bit later.

We kept her in the family and my Dad actually reupholstered the living room furniture and their yachts' benches and seaberths with her as well ...now theyre making machines able to do fancy stitches but I doubt they sew as strong and straight as that old grrl.

guilty snacks - bites of tiramisu, bite of payday bar . bits of whole foods cookies

l- chicken / mushroom stewish soup

s- hummus , pickled onions, peperoncini , cabbage crunch salad from whole foods

d- milky decaf latte w booze

saw three apartments - still favor others. Tomorrow starts the re-application process !

I saw a great idea for a tv series ... no.. I mean a Physical location.

Anything commercial's bound 2 b expensive... can I stand being homeless more - living " above the store " if you will ?

Answer's NO .

The semi- homeless rootless state is for someone thirty years my junior . But I want 2 do it - KNOW its a great idea and location .

Ill follow up anyway .. ask questions .

Never been to a rodeo in person... but it didnt stop m from fantasizing I could stay on a bucking bull lol.

2 tell the truth my Mongolian/ Hungarian heritage makes me a natural rider - I rode and regularly jumped a horse bareback as a five year old - had no problem ever doing gymnastic stunts like a walkover on a gently trotting horse's broad back ... enjoy horse archery as well .

Regarding bulls - being able to endlessly stay on a mechanical bar bull does NOT mean U can ride " Killer " lol.

I have mixed feelings about performing animals particularly rodeo ones ... those bulls are bred 2 buck and no doubt they enjoy their pampered lives and bucking the PITA off their backs ... barrel racers' and rodeo queens' mounts are also very valuable and cared for ...

The sheep ridden by kids, the roped calves ... I doubt theyre enthusiastic.

Its kind of like the dilemma of heritage breeds... theyre domesticated and bred for meat production - they cant survive on their own and without farmers pasture raising ( and eventually ethically slaughtering ) them these ancient beautiful breeds would not survive .

My Persian cats always enjoy riding in the car and excitedly going to the store ( where they ride in the basket of the carriage ) and the bank ( walking w a leash n harness) and being made a huge fuss over. They literally SMILE .

In a tiny way theyre performing animals too ... I think some doggies love agility tests and other pets love comforting sick kids and old folks in nursing homes.

Social stimulation for a pet and safe supervised outdoor activities in my opinion beat being left home alone and bored.

I so admire Ur ability to sew!

My maternal Grandmother made the most amazing upholstered ( I kid U not ) Barbie doll furniture using egg cartons and matching outfits for me and my ( only ) three dollies of vastly different sizes after she heard noone would play with me because I only had one Barbie no furniture no car no Barbie house no Ken doll ...

She was so wonderful loving and talented ( not to mention so soft and warm sharing a bed for naps )

My Granny died very young from heart failure after a lifetime of shocking dieting - oranges one day , just cottage cheese the next ... meanwhile she cooked deliciously for the whole family and " lived off the smell " .

She never lost weight but she was TINY .

She passed when I was just starting high school at 14. I knew that moment .. and when she came to visit me and promised shed watch over me all my life .

She was a second ( main to be honest ) Mother to me. I loved her unreservedly and I believe she loved me unreservedly too like I was her own daughter .

I miss her to this day.

Children never forget kindness and love- it heals them - patient love makes a child motivated to study rather than become an attitudinous wanna be serial killer lol.

" Real" exercise ( for the first time in many months )

Got a three day pass to LA fitness ( will b sleeping in Long Island till I sign lease on apt ... so did upper body stretching/ machines - rowing machine - situps n sauna . Feels great 2 sweat th toxins out !

Busy day today mostly looking at and trying to rent apt.

Gotta inform Law Department and my own atty regarding irrepairable flood damage to hearing system and hwh.

Totally unnecessary to repeat extremely difficult and expensive werk!

b- coffee and tea lattes w ff milk bites of last nites dinner if I can find a microwave

snack- yogurt

l& d tbd but salad w ff dressing is definitely on the menu

so far - three shrimp from yesterdays Chinese

bought dinner - jerk chicken , collard greens w smoked turkey ( one of my favorite foods ) mashed potatoes regular n sweet, green beans w garlic , two big vegetable spring rolls. Usually just eat the ( cabbage ) contents w dipping sauce ( soy , hot chinese mustard, lots of duck sauce )

herbal tea latte ( ff sf ) or new kind of imported red wine spritzer - the Spanish old variety was good - I have something from Calabria I think ... again tasting an unusual old variety w soda water lol!

Straight wine goes right to my head post RNY.

Pirate ship name - would have to be a legendary seamonster's name like Kraken - the giant boat swallowing octopus ... giant squid? How about Moby Dick - the boat and peg- legged captain crushing mega whale ? Or some kind of famous harridan?

Happy Sunday Y'all ! What are your plans, menus ?

Question - what's your preferred style of decorating ?

Mines white or very lite n brite ... with lots of changeable lighting and colors ( in the lights) . Also lots of plants mostly appropriate for the geography ..( tropicals are for Florida, English border perennials for NY )

I plan to visit a bunch of apartments today and go out to Bluepoint finally

. Actually Im driving there now - know the Citys keeping an eye out so need to show progress on the landscaping / interior neatening by leaving stuff at the curb. May sleep there tonite and help load d trash truck tomorrow lol.

Cars still full of food - last nites d and snack was ff milk ****tail (and about a cup of New England clam chowder w bits of cranberry pecan roll n Elis onion sourdough baguette) ... no point in sharing if we can't b honest . Resolved to take my naltrexone more regularly ... it really helps reduce d booze

b- probably a breakfast buffet w ff chai latte and coffee latte in thermoses -

usually I choose ff scrambled egg whites ( even yellow color theyre just egg beaters made from egg whites) salt, pepper ketchup n hot sauce makes em yummy ( salsa even better if they have it )

the meat part of crispy bacon slices

ff yogurt now and later w banana

little crispy waffles to be eaten later w bacon n 1/2 maple syrup 1/2 sugar feee syrup mix

cranberry juice ****tail

exercise - pruning lol

l, d - eggplant/ snap pea Chinese takeout w wonton soup (dip the dumplings in Chinese mustard, soy sauce and lots of duck sauce homemade dipping sauce ... usually on the lid .

Milky tea w booze ( Naltrexone isnt kicking in yet )

Discovered ( and filmed ) 28 inches of flooding in Long Island basement - exactly what I was dreading n avoiding .

New seven zone boiler and large ho****er heater as well as super strong pump ... all must be replaced. $70,000 plus job. - and the stoopid idiots in City Hall are WHOLLY responsible for turning the electric service off ( to a longterm critical care patient at that )

This was AFTER my atty warned them there was an artesian spring under the house ,that the sump pump constantly working to pump out the basement - long French drain was ESSENTIAL .

Well , theyre responsible to fix the damage their ignorance and stubborness caused now .

The Town of Brookhaven is offering free panels too ... your posts make me grateful I never got solar over the years .

I WOULD get on - lawn ( the house and pool fence are South - facing so all day sun ) panels to free- heat the very large and deep gunite pool though - its got a diving board on one end so you KNOW its gonna be cold .

If I was keeping the main house I would do a plastic hoop house / greenhouse over the pool for three seasons and take it down in summer ... but Thank God pool maintenance wont be my responsibility much longer .

Yesterday - oat cereal w lowfat milk

pb sandwich on whole wheat bread

d - roast beef ( fat removed) pastrami n

turkey breast open faced sandwiches

onion roll . " watermelon margarita " flavored beer lol

fat free milk w booze before sleeping - not a good habit to get into ( take your prescribed sleeping pill Grrrl !! )

b- Hamptons - egg whites w ketchup salt n pepper n hot sauce n salsa

fruit salad

breakfast potatoes ( pan roasted red potatoes w peppers fairly dry about 1/3 cup )

fat free yogurt

snack - crispy small waffle made in hotel , meat off 2 pieces crispy bacon , maple syrup 1/2 & 1/2 with sugar free imitation maple syrup . Same great taste , half the insulin insult lol

L - a couple of largeish shrimp w green salsa, radish kimchee bites

s- pina colada smoothie ( 2/3)

d- ff milk ****tail , bit of pecan/ cranberry roll

Struck out on one Brooklyn 1 bed apt though Im not sure its permanent.

Staying here because

1) it got too dark to see the basement flooding in LI

2) I need to BE here to get GODAWFUL apt real estate agents to comply sending me applications etc and tours .

This process is SO difficult and seemingly endless.

You think youre done and then they dont approve you for some minuscule usually incorrect reason like " too many late payments" on my credit report when Im paying a year upfront - so the entire lease amount is guaranteed to go to the landlord - and they misread the credit report which only contains three late payments total ( only listed as 30 , 60 and ninety delinquencies nine times because I only managed to pay them after three months struggling to do so)

This only happened because I borrowed for the first time ever in my long life towards a car from Santander bank who will neither accept payments at their branches nor ever answer the phone as humans ( only through malfunctioning AI )

I Could Not make a payment though God knows I tried !

Grrrrr ....

I need a HOME ! God PLEASE hear me !

Please wish me luck tomorrow ! I need a HOME where I can take a bath , sleep peacefully ( not in a car ! ) and perserve food in a refrigerator !

  1. Yesterday
  • brunch - Beef brisket all fat removed w italian au jus gravy, portobello mushroon pieces and caramalized onion, scallion greens ( put on just after cooking Chinese and chef style . Ditto for the fresh parsley ( though some tiny stem pieces ( i use scissors more than knives in my kitchen ) helped add flavor to the gravy.
  • Fat free Hollandaise sauce made w ff half n half , freeze dried butter solids, pepper and scallion greens and dill added last minute.
  • Oven roasted brussels sprouts w caramelized onion , garlic seasoning and fat free cheese sauce .

homemade soup - mix of squash, vegetable and chicken turmeric farro from Pret enhanced w pepper parsley scallion freeze dried butter and pepper.

  • snack - a chocolate rugelach
  • guilty pleasure - wine spritzer w sugar free prebiotic soda ( Poppy)
  • Also snacked on lime / spicy plantain chips in bed - finished bag . Lesson there - do not bring fattening snacks to bed !

Today - kind of out of sorts - viewed tiny-terraced apt in Chelsea in a 936 !!! apartment building. GIANT ! No views and same price as everywhere else but with only one bedroom. Also no on street parking in the very busy area.

Incidentally the air in midtown is less breathable than the South Bronx lol!

The graveyard apartment is taken I feel like a kid whose candy was stolen lol!

I'll apply again tomorrow for the yellow/ orange backup in South Harlem ( good air , leafy neighborhood parkbsteps away but no amenities in building whatsoever . Excellent onstreet parking.

Theyll accept me as will Da Bronx I believe after emailing w the agent .

B - creamed spinach w/out cream about one cup

toasted in oven pulled pork Pret burrito ( about half )

w fresh salsa enhanced w fresh parsley, cilantro , green part of scallions as dipping sauce for the wrapper ( about a cup ) ,

roasted corn n pepper salad ( 1/2 cup )

homemade fat free coleslaw ( shredded cabbage w fat free ranch dressing lemon if you want it and pepper )

a few bites of chocolate mousse cake

usual ff sf lattes

lunch / dinner - bean sprout salad w spinach tomatoes sesame oil

a few bites of sesame chicken

a few bites of Korean sliced pork ( tasty but oily)

marinated shrimp ( about 5 )

chocolate rugelach ( one )

herbal tea

I think Ive decided to accept the challenge of the Bronx apartment . I KNOW its counterintuitive but parks ARE planned ( I and other like me - paying high rents for the waterfront ) can help make these plans a reality .

The noise level all nite last nite was outrageous from an endless line of garbage trucks getting weighed on their way to the waste burning plant .

Imagine all the cancer causing plastic in those trucks polluting the air !!!

I have some ( predictably outrageous ) ideas how to make MY air better - talk about that tomorrow !

Gnite

I cant burn anything ( smoke makes me choke lol! ) but I can and do love organic scent essences like jasmine , lemongrass, sweet orange and bergamot .

I just dab them on my wrists and neck like perfume and Im surrounded by a cloud of uplifting yum !

Ive gone on a hayride but never a haunted house ! ( Tell the truth my own shadow makes me jump ten feet lol!

So here

are two alternative apts both in Manhattan.

The second one is within steps of Riverside Park and a graveyard ! Yep a historic graveyard though ... beautifully landscaped and statued .

Wealthy Victorian families apparently used to enjoy picnicking with their dead relatives ... curiously making some of the graveyards in NYC actual tourist and tour destinations ! Go figure - this is one of them so the air here is OUTSTANDING and clean .

Unfortunately the apartment and terrace are small compared to the Bronx ( photos make the rooms look way bigger) . The terrace in particular is only 27x 20 feet if I remember correctly but it is glass- fenced and has a beautiful water view .

I had my heart set on the Bronx ( and also these two very same Manhattan apartments LAST year ) but the persistent health issues here truly scare me .

Imagine waking up coughing every day - opening windows in your sleep at nite cuz U cant breathe ? headache all day after none in 20 years ?

Gonna see where that gosh darn waste burning plant is located now .

I did do a little research - the medical waste burning was stopped five years ago ( the protests and community outrage DID help actually) and parks are planned to the waterfront right in front of me

Honestly Im very reluctant 2 post because noone ever answered my posts in d past . Made m feel isolated and even shunned 4 absolutely no reason.

Where did everyone go from here btw ? Not that I really care ... jes curiosity . ( Im guessing the self-styled wegovy scarfing " Queen" was finally censored and she was " outraged " and her lemmings followed her to another site )

Guilty Confession - Rest of king cream donut and 1/3 bag plaintain chips w lime n chili.

Surprisingly not that calorie dense ( say compared to Doritos my other guilty snack favorite ) - six grams of fat per serving in a totally stuffed medium sized bag w five servings - 30 grams of fat total - 1/2 a big mac.

Yep I still measure fat by number of big macs ( 64 grams each lol) not counting the fries !

Yesterday's ambitions turned into a wash - realized I would get NOTHING done rushing out to inspect the storm damage / flooding so I enjoyed a relax- a-cat day despite banging headache which I havent suffered since the nineties I swear !

Flooding level will still be at its highest point today since theres no sump pump working ... and I can finally deal w nasty neighbor stealing land , running illegal business out of a $ 60,000 BOATHOUSE in a million plus neighborhood ! etc and illegally adding on a bathroom and even living quarters .. ( thats a whole other ball of wax lol I havent mentioned to U yet ) On the large scale a small annoyance but Im happy even Eager 2 finally b dealing w it!

If this apartment's really trying to kill m Im not dumb enuf to sign a lease ...

so I made appointments to inspect three others w large terraces this morning - one again I saw and applied for last year only to get rejected.

Whats up w that ? THREE of my favorite apartments I applied for last year all vacant ?!

OF COURSE the greedy unregulated landlords R demanding crazy rents but ... the agents are telling me renters sign up for a year with significant concessions ( my two months free rent gets me from $5200 to $3900 per month) then when the years lease is up they MOVE !!!!

Im so old school I think a NYC apartment is a forever home because the effective rent reduces dramatically over the years w rent stabilization .

Unfortunately almost none of the new buildings are rent regulated . ( But theyre starting to be - theres already new laws in place to prevent the - get this - AVERAGE 29% rent hike on unregulated apartments last year !!!! )

Cooked D last nite then didnt eat it thanks to headache -

Lobster n fish buttery fat free fish milky stew thickened w mashed potatoes n zucchini.

Tabouleh salad

roasted brussels sprouts n mushrooms in fat free cheese sauce

Fat free alternative dipping sauce for fish and veg - hollandaise

herbal tea

B - small Hungarian open face sandwich - toasted garlic clove bread , ff hollandaise , corned beef w fat removed , maple smoked ham slice, pepper jack cheese all melted in the oven

spoonfools of ff sf yogurt

L & D dk

Chai tea latte ff sf of course

Coffee latte ditto

perhaps that apple/ pear pastry or fruit n yogurt

What R Ur plans this week ? Whats the best book you've read lately ?

Ive been devouring New York by Edward Rutherfurd who I believe is British writer . Fascinating super well researched historical fiction !

Good luck FloridaMom !

How much weight do U need to lose to qualify ? My requirement was 50 lbs and I was " only" 230 and diabetic to start so on surgery day many nurses said " Im bigger than u lol... you dont need this .... "

Thank God I didnt listen !

I drank protein shakes for the first time in my life ... ( and last too except immediately post op ) to stave off hunger and allowed myself a tiny calorie controlled meal once a day off the HOW menu ( a subset of Overeaters Anonymous - ) meals are basically all the lowfat protein you can eat ( no mayo ketchup gravy etc ) ( theyre famius for" chicken falling off the plate lol" - all the salad U can eat no dressing but soy sauce and lemon or totally fat free- ( I loved coleslaw mix w ff ranch and salt n pepper) - a little low carb veg . Needless to say no bread pasta cheese ..all the good stuff

Im sure U can find their menu on the internet somewhere .

When I was modeling in the garment district a thousand years ago I HAD to eat their way and it WORKS .... they had HOW ( Honesty Openmindedness and Willingness ) physical meetings in New York City - let me tell U there wasn't a plump person There - it looked like an actors yoga studio !

There probably are online meetings too - its a twelve step group and ninety meetings in ninety days in any twelve step program has ALWAYS worked to halt self destructive behaviour for me .

The truth is the LAST time I changed the boiler ( and to be fair almost all the pipes in the giant basement ) it was such a lengthy tortuous ( imagine being stuck in a mostly unventilated basement with serious breathing issues) and onerous job ... I truly cant imagine having to do it again . It took MONTHS .

I DREAD what Im going to find out there and the worst part is this huge destruction might be caused by simple idiocy ... idiots in positions of power failing to factor in obvious contingencies .

Im really depressed at the very idea of driving out there . Im giving myself permission to immediately leave ( after taking pics and packing the car )

Good news is the apartment application seems to be on the right track for signing a lease ... but so many things could go wrong . Jes prayin!

Also an aquaintance told me the WORST cancer causing , breathing problem causing and pollution increasing South Bronx waste burning plant is literally just around the corner from these new waterfront buildings which HE says the developers bought the land very cheaply for from the City because both the river and the land are profoundly polluted ( this was an industrial area and still largely is - warehouses factories and hugely tall projects )

He accurately described the Fresh Direct warehouse being just a few blocks away - I saw it last nite when I predictably got lost ...and supposedly its right next door complete with garbage barges lined up to either burn or dump their poison contents into the river ...

This South Bronx Waste Burning Starion is by FAR the biggest and worst air polluter in NYC ( maybe anywhere in the first world ! )

The asthma rates for children and adults and cancer rates including very rare ones are sky high here in the South Bronx.

Repeated shocking exposes have been written to no avail because the vast majority of the inhabitants are poor and too busy surviving to put pressure on the City to improve their conditions.

IF that plant is there ( Ill find out this morning ) I gave to seriously rethink living here despite the ( relatively) low rent , great amenities and super apartment .

Ugh!!! My life SUCKS right now !

Its clearly time to break out the rose geranium organic bubblebath ... fruit scented bodywashes ... a great book , slightly boozy tea and chocolate ! ( from my secret stash for emergencies only lol! )
