Good Tuesday Morning gang. This is going to be quick as I have to help with the warehouse inventory. I have to send a message to my bariatric center to see if they will do some bloodwork. I've felt a bit tired lately, but it could be from doing extra stuff outside. It's always best to get things checked yearly.
QOTD: Who here makes sure to annual bloodwork done to make sure things are in check? I do and if for some reason I feel something is off I ask for more to be done.
B: coffee and corn muffin
L: salad with grilled chicken
D: Pork tacos
30 minutes on the treadmill and 10 minutes on the vibration platform
Have a wonderful day everyone!!!

Good Morning Gang. The weekend wasn't too bad weather wise some rain off and on, but we were able to get a few things done outside. Got the billy goat patches back to my SIL yesterday morning and then I posted some truck stuff on FB for Irvin. He had a Chevy short bed with sidesteps that he didn't need so I posted it and had about 10 people interested. A guy from New York came and got it for $550. Now he has more room on the cement pad to work on one of his Challengers.
Three people called out of work today. More people here call out on a Monday than any other day of the week. Besides our Spring inventory of the warehouse tomorrow the week should be rather quiet.
QOTD: Did anyone watch the Kentucky Derby on Saturday? I had to put a reminder in my phone so I wouldn't miss it. What a sloppy track they had to run on, but Sovereignty beat out the favorite Journalism in the home stretch. It was a really good race.
B: coffee and slice of crustless quiche
L: Leftover pork ribs
D: pork shoulder tacos with cauliflower rice and beans in celebration of Cinco De Mayo
Have a great day everyone!!!

Happy Friday gang. Those are some of the pepper plants I put outside to harden off. I have some more veggie plants that will be going out there this weekend. I also planted some yellow beans and will get the potatoes in tonight.
I was able to take the CPR class yesterday. It's always good to get a refresher on CPR/First Aid you just never know when you might need to help someone. Even though I sold half of my chickens earlier this year I still get 17 eggs a day and right now I have an abundance of extra eggs, so I brought a few dozen in to make some quiche for the guys. I know they will really appreciate them.
QOTD: Do you ever look for food deals at the grocery store like stuff you can purchase in bulk to freeze for later? If I come across some good fresh seafood deals like fish I usually buy 5lbs or more of it to have on hand. I do the same with lamb and turkey when they are on sale around the holidays. We like to have a variety of proteins in the freezer and while I could grow turkeys they are a lot more messier than chickens and have some disease problems when around chickens. Same with sheep they require certain feed and some stuff can kill them like to much copper.
B: coffee and squash and eggs
L: clam chowder and crab bites from a local seafood shack
D: spinach and cheese stuffed cod
30 minutes on the treadmill
Have a wonderful day and weekend everyone!!!

The wing dings are from a local family run restaurant near my work. They do them in a way that are so crispy on the outside, but tender and juicy on the inside.
The spareribs are from my homegrown pigs that I've had in Brazilian marinade since yesterday. They will go on the grill when I get home.

Good Morning Gang. Happy May Day/Beltane. Today is our second class of CPR I'm not sure if I'll be able to jump in on the class or not. I put my pepper plants out in the little greenhouse I have last night along with the Wisteria plants and picked up some red seed potatoes that I will put in some fabric pots tonight. Irvin set up the shelve unit that we will be putting the outside rabbit cages on. So hopefully we get them moved out of the basement and into to those cages this weekend.
QOTD: What's a fun place you visited as a kid? In Rhode Island we had an amusement park called Rocky Point. I was in Warwick and located by the ocean. They had all sorts of rides and a big eating place called The Shore Dining Hall where you could get all you can eat clam cakes and chowder. They even had concerts on the weekends, and I had seen Guns and Roses, Whitesnake, and Bon Jovi perform there. That was all included in the park's admission. Unfortunately, they closed in 1995 after the owner was found to owe years and years of taxes. The park opened in 1840.
B: coffee and breakfast wrap
L: garlic parm wing dings
D: grilled spare ribs
30 minutes on the treadmill and 10 minutes on the vibration platform
Have a great day everyone!!!

Matt try Dawn power wash spray and the magic eraser. Heat the dryer for 10 minutes, spray the Dawn on the ink and then rub with the magic eraser. That should take the ink off. The only other thing would be vinegar, but that is going to require some scrubbing muscles. Just think it could be worse like poop. I would rather clean ink than poop.

I love sushi and there is only one place near me in CT that has pretty good sushi and sashimi.
That is one of the reasons why we are in such an ultra cleanup/cleanout mode. Why leave it for someone else to deal with, plus it is giving us extra money for other things that are more useful to us.

Happy Hump Day Menuer's. CPR class went well yesterday, and we have a budget meeting later today for next year's budget. Went through another tote downstairs and pulled some Tupperware out that I haven't used in over 15 years, so it looks like it's time to sell it no need to hang on to stuff that I don't use anymore. Still can't believe how much stuff I've collected over the years. Irvin and I made a deal he cleans up the stuff outside and I do the stuff inside. I think I got worst part of the deal because there is a lot of crap in the house. LOL
QOTD: Does anyone know someone who hoards things and doesn't want to get rid of anything? Yes unfortunately I do. One of my sister's has so much stuff in her house that honestly it is a fire hazard. Two of her bedrooms are so full of stuff that you can't even open the doors, but halfway. My mom was like that up until she ended up in hospital back in January. Since she's been home and not working she's actually been going through stuff and either donating it or throwing it away. I've told her that she doesn't have to keep years and years of paid bills.
B: coffee and slice of quiche
L: buffalo chicken salad over garden salad
D: chicken burgers on the grill
30 minutes on the treadmill and 10 minutes on the vibrating platform
Have a great day everyone!!!

Wow Mel you and your mom really got some great deals. I need to get a new vacuum sealer, but I'm not sure which one I want.

Welcome FloridaMom. Love buffalo chicken. I make buffalo chicken salad and put it on Romaine lettuce leaves.

There may be a few places in Mexico that are still good, but many US doctors don't want to deal with follow-up or complications that could arise from having surgery done out of the country. If you have insurance it would be best to get the surgery done in the US.

Good Morning Gang. Ended up getting a bunch of squash plants repotted last night and helped Irvin move the tranny he took out of his old green Ford to put in the dully. Then someone messaged me about a bean pot I've had on FB marketplace for a few months. I'm supposed to meet her on my way home tonight.
I have to get the conference room set up for the CPR class this morning and work on a couple of month end stuff.
QOTD: Kind of going off of yesterday's question do any of you have a favorite kitchen knife set or type of knife you use a lot? I have a German set of Henckels knives that my step-son gave me years ago. I do love them, but when we were over his house this weekend he was showing me these Japanese knives that are to die for. They are very expensive, but could literally slice through bone with easy and then cut a tomato. With all the stuff I use knives for in the kitchen especially when I am processing a quarter of a pig those knives would be very very handy.
B: coffee and egg salad wrap
L: Ruben sandwich
D: grilled chicken thighs
30 minutes on the treadmill and 10 minutes on the vibration platform
Have a great day everyone!!

Happy Monday everyone. Saturday was a total wash out and I was feeling tired and lazy from going in so early Thursday and Friday so I just did minimal stuff. Yesterday I did a bit more, but the darn wind was crazy outside which made it a bit cooler than normal so just stayed in the house.
I have to start looking at what days I want to take off this Summer. It seems like the days are flying by quicker than I want them to. We have two CPR classes here at work Tuesday and Thursday morning, but the rest of the week should be pretty quiet.
QOTD: Those of you who cook what type of cutting board do you use? I have a glass one and a bamboo one, but Irvin found a Titanium one that is supposed to be safe for knives. I'm always worried about bacteria even though I clean everything in super-ho****er with dish soap. I might get a small one to see just how good it really is.
B: coffee and egg salad
L: Rueben sandwich
D: Lamb gyro
30 minutes on the treadmill and 10 minutes on vibration platform.
Have a wonderful everyone!!!

Glad to see you back Mel. Well that's a good thing your colonoscopy came back good. Yea they are a pain, but sometimes it's better to be safe than sorry.
You can't get the stimulator taken out? That really sucks it never really worked for you and I know all the hoops you had to go through to get it.

Well we all did it again made it through another week of either calmness or chaos.
The physicals went very well yesterday and I am back again at 4:45 for the second round. I have to make sure all employees have their proper paperwork, respirators, hearing protection, etc. plus meet with the medical team that comes to the plant that is why I have to be in so early, but it is only two days a year and I get overtime pay for it.
Tomorrow is going to be a washout, but Sunday looks to be halfway decent a bit cooler, but at least sunny. I should be able to get some more stuff done outside. My little blueberry plants I planted last year are starting to get some little leaves on them. I think I might pick up a few more bushes of them. I got my little greenhouse all set up outside to start transferring the seedling/plants so they can get accustomed to the weather before I plant them in the garden.
QOTD: Does your couch have recliners or is it just a plain couch? Since we moved to Putnam in 2004 we have always had a sectional with recliners on each end. In 2020 we had to replace it due to one of the recliners kind of crapping out breaking. So after looking around at all sorts of furniture places we found a floor model on clearance at this huge family run furniture place in Worcester, MA. It has three recliners and cup holders. The material is like a faux leather and is super comfy to sit or sleep on. Only issue is the dog hair seems to stick to it. I've told Meisha several times I am going to shave her. She gave me the stink eye.
B: coffee and breakfast wrap
L: 2 slices of pizza
D: baked stuffed sole and asparagus
No exercise today
Have a great Friday everyone and a wonderful weekend.

Good Morning peeps. I've been here at work since 4:45 for the annual physicals for the employees. So far everyone who has been scheduled to come in has which is a good thing. We have a couple of more days of nice weather until Saturday when we are supposed to get rain. Other than that not much going on.
QOTD: Have you ever done an extreme sport? The most extreme sport if you can call it that would a Hunter Pace on my old gelding years ago. It was a 4-hour ride walk, trot, canter and going over different obstacles along with through a small river. It was timed so you had to complete the ride in at least 4 hours or less.
B: coffee and 2 eggs with cheese/ham
L: chicken burger with salad
D: grilled pork chops
Hoping to get the treadmill or at least a walk in later today.
Have a great day everyone!!!

Happy Hump Day gang. I sorted through the bags of recyclable cans and bottles I've been collecting for the last month, and I have just over $100 to turn in. I mostly collect them at work but also walk my road picking them up since people just love to toss trash out of their vehicles. CT switched from 5 cent to 10 cent for redemption so it adds up quickly and a new redemption center opened just the next town over from me so it only takes about 10 minutes to return the bottles and cans now. Always trying to find a way to make a little extra money.
My garlic is really coming in nicely. I have 250 bulbs planted in this area.
QOTD: Do you like a firm bed or a soft bed? I would love to get a sleep number bed, but that's not in the cards right now. We do have a pillow top mattress that is semi-soft. Firm enough that you don't get sucked into the mattress, but still soft so you don't wake up sore.
B: coffee and quiche
L: ham and cheese wrap
D: chicken burgers on the grill
30 minutes on the treadmill and 10 minutes on the vibration platform
Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone!!!

Morning gang. Woke up to a little rain, but it is supposed to get sunny and into the 70's today. Irvin put a 2001 F-350 frame on-line this past weekend to see if he could sell it instead of junking it as it's in very good condition and sure enough someone contacted him and came out last night to look at it. The guy was impressed at how straight it was plus there was zero rot on it. He was asking $1500 and the guy offered $1200 so he took it. He also junked some dirty aluminum he had and made another $280.
Then I had gone to the farm stand to get some milk and the owner Megan was there. She gave me a free 1/2 gallon on the house because she didn't have room in the refrigerator plus I also bought one.
And to top off the day I got a 3.5% raise. Yea Monday was a win all the way around. Wish everyday was like yesterday.
QOTD: Do you ever feel lucky? There have been times in the past that yes, I have felt that the stars or whatever have aligned in my favor. A few times it has been on lottery scratch tickets where I had won $250 and then $500. Other times it has been things like that happened yesterday. Would love to be lucky all the time every day, but I'm happy when even little things go right.
B: coffee and a slice of quiche
L: lamb and ham pieces
D: turkey and gravy
30 minutes on the treadmill 10 minutes on the vibration platform
Have a great day everyone!!!

Good Morning menuer's. I hope everyone had an excellent Easter. We had so much fun at Bob and Adrianna's. The grandkids had a blast playing outside games and there was so much food. One of their friends brought the lamb lollipops which were so tender and delicious, and we got to take some home.
Saturday, we got a ton of stuff done outside the weather was amazing and looks to be nice most of the week. My garden area is almost set and ready for planting in May. Hoping to have a really great vegetable harvest this year.
While I am not a religious person it was sad to hear of the passing of Pope Francis. He always seemed like a very down-to-earth Pope who was open minded about a lot of things.
QOTD: Does anyone here still use any protein powder daily? For the first couple of years after surgery I used it once to twice a day to make sure I got enough protein in then I just kind of stopped doing it. Over the last few months, I started using it again in my morning coffee, but it is more of a collagen protein powder to help with my joints and dry skin. It seems to be helping as I'm not so creaky.
B: coffee and slice of quiche
L: two lamb lollipops and a slice of ham with cucumber sauce
D: turkey salad
30 minutes on the treadmill
Have a wonderful day everyone!!!

That dog meme is 110% Meisha. A darn bomb could go off and nothing but snoring from her but open the pork rind bag or cheese draw and she teleports from wherever she is to right behind you. I can't tell you how many times I've almost tripped over her when I turn around. LOL

Good Friday morning. Today should be an easy day at work and hopefully we will be getting out a little early due to it being Good Friday and Easter weekend. I have to get my grocery list together so on my way home later I can stop and get everything I need for Easter. We are going to one of my stepson's house for dinner and I offered to make a turkey, a couple of quiches and a lemon raspberry trifle. They are making lamb and ham, but with almost 30 people going they liked the idea of having a turkey also that way there is a variety of proteins.
QOTD: What's everyone's plan for Easter? Usually, Irvin and I just stay home, and I make lamb with some sides, but this year we were invited to one of his twin boy's house for dinner. Bob and his wife Adrianna just finished redoing their kitchen and dining room, so they wanted to host Easter dinner for the family. They will be having an egg hunt for the kids and Adrianna has all sorts of fun things planned for the adults. We're both excited to go.
B: coffee and breakfast wrap
L: leftover beef and broccoli
D: baked cod and asparagus
30 minutes on the treadmill
Have a wonderful day and a Happy Easter!!!
