What kind of MR did you get? I now use 2 different ones. For day I use Chlorzoxazone (500 mg - sometimes i use 1/2 of that, but latly I need the whole pill 2-3 x day) and the second, before bed, is Tizanidine. The second one is really sedating to me so I cnat use it during te day and function on it. I used to get flexeril, but it really doesn't do much for me.

The first one works reall good, but my insurance doest cover it so I have to pay cash for it. And, IMPO it kind of pricey..

I did not say you compared yourself to me. Nor di dI try to dimis your disomfort level. I can relate with your "discomfort" and cramps and pain your deal with when eating some foods. I've been dealing with that latley and iit getting worse and worse. But I still can shrag it off.. and ... enjoy some foods that I won't even consider when my SIBO is in a real horrible flare.

I'm still waiting to start my antibiotcs treatment becase I have some procedures scheduled plus 1-2 day travels, that I can't have/do when I'm on antibiotics.

I was just saying that consuming some foods on high FODMAP list, even small qty - i.e. spices like "everything bagel" or Montreal steak seasoning - when that stuff makes me cry in pain, then I know I'm in a really bad place. After I treat the IBS condition, then supplement with the probiotics + simple yeast. I may have a few months that I can tolerate much more foods and spices. Even broccolie (but not beans)... Unfortunately that eventually leads to return of SIBO and Candida.

I do treatments when my symptoms are at 75-80% of the worst reactions I ever had. I don't want to go to 90-100%. At that level - only drinking strong alcohol and getting drunk and passing out was often the only thing that would stop the severe cramps and pain. Something I really don't want to do.

Now - I often can deal with the crmaps - pain using 2-3 hyoscyamine sulfate, sublingual. I can eat some white bread, lettuce, even apples ... But in limited qty and only some types of that.

Most antibiotics would kill the bad stuff, but also the good bacteria. Often - good bacteria keep candida - the yeast in check, preventing it from taking over. But as we kill the bacteria - the yeast - candida can start going crazy -taking over. That's why I always do the candida treatment as I take antibiotics or even supplements that kills bacteria.

There is a difference between simple yeast and candida. The first is actually part of our biota and it needed for proper digestion. Candida is, using simple terms "simple yeast that became like a gang- destructive and even dangerous." It forms colonies and layers and can take over the system. Rather difficult to deal with, and close to impossible to get rid of since we do need yeast. After my treatment for SIBO and Candida - always supplement the good probiotics and simple yeast (i.e. Florastor is a simple yeast)

Lisa, there is "uncomfortable" and "pain you scream to". I don't mind uncomfortable once in a while, but when SIBO gets to be a serious problem - I would wake up scramming in pain, unable to talk, to breathe... I joke when I say I stat having gas when I see beans. But I would not eat beans even in my doc would tell me "it's ok". I could get a severe pain after eating 1/2 sandwich - that had a piece of lettuce and some spices on meat that my body decided it doesn't like.

I'm not diminishing your discomfort, just there could be different levels of that.

SIBO and internal Candida go hand in hand.

When I treat SIBO I also treat Candida (Diflucan).

Im getting ready to start my 2 weeks SIBO and Candida protocol. Beside Antibiotics, and Diflucan, I also take supplements to help bridge the biofilm and dissolve it to reach to deeper layers of SIBO and Candida. This way, My treatment often lasts over a year.

Often "lasts over a year" - because of RNY, My age, plus PPI - I can manage SIBO and Candida but not really eliminate it. Eventually my symptoms return and I need a treatment. At the beginning - I needed to repeat the treatment every 3-5 months, so at least 3 x a year. Now - Once a year seams OK.

QOTD: Hot. 95-97F. And burning skin when exposed to sun.

"You know you live in a south when you see people willing to walk a mile so they can park their car in a shade." Maybe not a mile, but I don't mind parking farther from the doors (Costco, Sam's, any other store i plan to be in more than 10 min) if my car could be in a shade. My current car - Santa Fe Has very good AC and vented seats. In 90 sec I can feel the cold coming at me from the vents and the seat. My car is set at 65 -66K. Yes, it gets cool. Plus I put IR/UV coating on my windows, it really makes a difference.

Vacation is over and we had fun. We had great time, it was great to see my sister who was unbelievable great hostess. One funny thing - when we arrived, there were doing some water lines refit and there was no running water in her house on Monday and Tuesday. Tuesday we got a train to visit Krakow, but the 2 days - showering with bottled water was funny.

I think Keith enjoyed seeing part of Europe I grew up in, and overall we had fun. My sister loves Keith. He is a very first guy I'm with she really likes. Yea, the others were no good for me, I know that, but her dislike of al of them were often difficult to handle.

Vacation is over - and I regained app 6 lbs. And ...I am still on eating like "on vacation". Unfortunately that causes a lot of inflammation and pain. Lots of. I need to be on keto-paleo type diet, not "whatever I want to eat diet".
When in Poland I fell and bummed one of my knee. Then when we were flying back, I wore compression socks. Unfortunately the hematoma in the knee probably got turned into a blood clot - Once we got back I had a problem bending my knee. I tried different things, but after 2 weeks gave up, called my doc and got steroid injection in that knee on Monday. Since then, I regained 90% if mobility in that knee. I still use lotion and IF lamp, but the improvement is huge.

The heat really bothers me. My body doesn't properly regulate my body heat and I'm miserable when I'm hot.

I had my lab work done and looks like I need to be on the hormones I'm on now. 2-3 years ago there were signs that my pituitary could be improving, but now my hormones' levels are still very low, some critically low without supplementation, that I need to be sure I dose regularly, and have extra as needed. Bummer.

Beside that - things are ok.

good to see everyone still participating.

P.S. I read some posts but I was either busy or in a bad "head space" to post anything.

Chronic pain is no joke. Then add some break through pain and it's really difficult.

I can relate at the moment. My vacation to Poland - traveling, then food that I normally don't eat and in no time my fibromyalgia was back, inflammation, pain, etc. Some people don't get that during a flare, even a simple touch can feel like a slap- everything hurts.

I'm back from vacation, but I still eat "everything and anything", so the inflammation continue.

BTW: CBD oil - that did not do anything for me. Delta 8 and Delta 9 would put me to sleep, but it also gave me munchies.

Another item to consider - is Kratom. There are great companies that bring that from Asia, and distribute in US. I used to take a bunch of it, but went overboard so I had to stop. I now started taking some again - but mainly extract. Extract is more expensive, but I can take very little and it really deals with the pain than even narco doesn't touch (nerve pain in my leg). I have t be very very careful how much and how often I take. But - if anything - you may try to look into Kratom.

Hugs. IMO, Dry heaving is worse than throwing up. Sometimes it feels like my bile is trying to get up. Sore throat, sore ribs, etc.

The worst about legality MJ is the drug testing. Hemp is technically legal and you may need to start reading on legality of delta 8, delta 9 and delta 10 in your area, state, county and city. You may need to consider that, if legally it won't be a problem for you.

In my area weed is illegal but people use it here. I don't. My ex was a pothead so I have a strong aversion to the smoke. When I was in CO I vaped some, to try, but I hated it, the high. It worked on my pain, but it made me feel ill.

There is also kratom. It works fod a lot of people. To help with pain, energy, and a anxiety. I used it for a few years, but i developed a strong dependencu, and I had very bad withdrawals, just 2-3 hrs after getting a proper dose.

But ...kratom is the only thing that really helps with my irritated nerves' pain. If I take just "perfect amount" I'm not only pain free but I also get energy spike for app 2 hrs. Unfortunately the type that helps is an extract, specially formatted. And I don't want to develop addiction to it. (It's so easy****ep some in case the pain gets thr best from me. Ugh

Sorry to see you dealing with all this crap. Nausea can be horrible. We're you able to get some Rx for Ativan? I know I don't function well without my nausea meds.

The generic promethazine works for me. I freak out when I need it and can't find it. It's typically everywhere, by the bed, in my purse, in the cars... I used to freak out like that when I couldn't find hyoceamine (for intestinal cramps), or glucose, now it's promethazine. I actually take it withou****er, allowing it to slowly dissolve and numb my mouth, throat, etc. Sometimes I need 2 x 25mg, but normally just 1 Is OK.

So...what now for the pain? Are there any options for you?

Is weed an option? I know it can work for me, but I got side effects trying THC delta 9 (uncontrolled munching and some nausea). I hate feeling high.

There is also kratom, but getting a good source can be challenging. The store front sources can be OK, but ...I heard some horror stories by people who bought from the smoke shops.

I call beozar any type of bowel obstrustuction that's caused by undigested food.

I what I did? Lots of liquids, digestive enzymes, Probiotics, plus ..whisky and red wine on a 2nd day when things were not "moving down". Alcohol is a solvent, and I know it works better than anything else. As much as I really didn't want To go that route, hospital is the last possible thing. Things started moving down. Things are fine now, but I think my insides are inflamed and I have to be really careful what and how much I eat. I increased miralax dose, l-glutamine and liquids. No food for 2 days, electrolytes and extra sodium.

Keith massaged my abdominal area (he was scared - so much gurgling). Whatever caused the obstruction- I hope it's gone for now.

The worse was not be able take pain meds and muscle relaxants.

Good morning.

Life is interesting. I have something stuck inside my small intestine. I either have btypeof beozar or twisted intestine. I'm drinking liquids and taking digestive enzymes. Liquids go through, but solids are coming up. Solids I ate over 12 hrs ago. The food is not stuck in my pouch.

Qotd: Dominican Republic or Haiti. Very depressing. And any Concentration Camp. When visiting Poland over 20 years ago a friend wanted to go. Reluctantly I took him to Oswiencim (Auschwitz). I still can recall images from there as sharp as the day I was there. Keith and I are going to Poland, but I won't take him there. Thankfully he really doesn't want to go to see it.

QOTD: the older I get the more I enjoy solitude. I'm don't mind crows, but don't crave them. Since the pandemic I developed aversion to strangers touching me. Even by passing by me in the crowds (i.e. airports). I'm not germaphobe but after meeting some people and shaking hands I want to go and wash my hands ... Getting the 6f distance from stranger for 2 years - suddenly my personal space is 12 ft in diameter. And we are going to Poland...God help me.

we had a large storm in our area yesterday and we lost power. There was no point for me to go home, so I stayed at work. Power was restored after midnight.

Food: Lately things get stuck in the upper part of my intestines. No good. I hope is something minor, not another hernia.

Good morning. You are unstoppable. Wow.

QOTD: not really. When I like a car I like it, but when I see something better for me, and similar price - I get it. Last 2 cars are Hyundai Santa FE SUV. I absolutely love them. That's why I got a newer version to get more options. Heated and Colled seats - I'm always overheating, great AC, plus many other options Hyundairipped from German cars. Before that we had Hyundai sonata and I hated it. I also had Acura MdX and I liked it, but I didn't like how much gas it burned and that I had to refuel it 2x a week. I had other cars before that.

When I was at herbal conference 2 weeks ago I bought some items. One of them was a small bottle of natural herbal roll-on pain mix. Yesterday I decided to try it. I put that on my knees and my shins. O boy. It's still burning today. It has strong herbal stuff including capsicum and pepper. It started burning app 15 min after application, and continued burning. At 45 min, I decided I needed to wa**** off. I used grease, then soap and water. It helped a little. Then ...15 min later the burn returned. Ugh. I woke up with my knees burning. It would be fun day today. Lol.

My theory is that lotions- oils like that work for pain because the new pain from them overpowers any other pain you had. Suddenly the pain you had isn't so bad after all.

BTW- if you ever use anything like that - cleaning it with jus****er and soap is a really really bad idea. Like the worst you can do. (I know from past experience). Using fat- grease- i.e. butter, coconut oil, olive oil - then wipe it dry with paper, repeat a couple of times can help to remove that medicated oils from your skin. Then you could wa**** with a gentle soap and water. Do not touch your eyes or sensitive parts of your body. Dry it with towel you can trash, or paper towels. Residue on regular towels can hurt you in more than one way many weeks after and they could spread to other items you wash together with that towel - again- im talking from experience. I've been experimenting with Essential oils for many years - and I've done things.

Today I'm having a massage in a middle of the day, so I'm going to work late.

Accountability: I ate a whole mid size watermelon over the weekend. I was planning to have some, but... o well...it could have been worse things. Right?

Good morning. On Friday I learned that we (WORK) have Monday off. It's a federal holiday, but not a state of SC holiday. Last year when I was on vacation, Brian introduced the new Juneteenth as a company holiday, and that day was posted on the company paid stat holiday list at the beginning of this year. I thought I corrected it (I did on some forms, but not others, ugh). We already have one floating extra holiday that can be used for any day, and the standard 10 stat paid holidays. I'm wondering of Brian will show up to work tomorrow and then call me to ask where is everyone.

But because of the Monday off, and me "slacking" last week - I decided to work late yesterday plus put a whole day in today. Just "regular accounting maintenance stuff". I also lost a good employee, and we have a new one we are training. My accounting assistant/ustomer service manager is mostly training him, but I will have to do some of that, and do it soon.

Keith also has Monday as a day off, so I think I will drag him somewhere to eat out. We have 2 cats and he takes care of them more than I do. Ideally tonight would be nice to take Keith out for father's day dinner (we have 2 cats), but it would be crowded, and we don't like that.

As a fun part - I finally "broke down" and decided I want a kindle reader. ... I was wishy-washy about getting one. I really don't need it, but I tried a simple Kindle 2022, then I decided that I didn't like it, the size, the screen, etc. Long story short--- Keith... got it for me as an early birthday gift. Lol (it's on sale now). It's already set up and ready to go.

Today is a workday for me, then I plan to stop by Costco to get some meds. my gastro doc office worked miracle and got insurance to approve some really $$$ meds (PPi Dexilant and Xifaxan for SIBO.) Lately my temper is short... I really need a vacation.

QOTD: it depends - I try to avoid vegetable oils like soy, canola, corn, etc...so when we are out I really limit the amount of dressing on my salad and I dip tip my fork in that. But at home, or homemade dressing, it depends if I got other fat source on my plate (i.e. avocado), or

Menu: undecided. Some proteins and vegetables...

Interesting.

I peel the cucumber skin to reduce the amount of fiber.

BTW: ceramic knifes work great to cut vegetables without causing oxidation. Works wonderful on cut avocado, or apples. I've got a bunch of ceramic knifes. I have to hide them at work - people steel them or break them. Ceramic knifes chip easily. Plus they need to be washed by hands. At home - Keith is as careful as I am with the knifes. I have a good knife sharpener that works with SS or ceramic knifes, "removing" the chips.

I missed 3 days from my life. I had e spinal epidural and Tuesday I had a hard time staying down, but then Wednesday and Thursday my hormones' were all over the place. I was tired but wired.
