Need a Bariatric Surgeon in Nashville

Anyone out there that has experience with any bariatric surgeons in Nashville, please share your experiences, opinions, etc.  Thank you.

I replied on the post on the RNY board as well - my doc was Dr. Houston with Centennial Medical Center.  He's great.

I love Vanderbilt's Center for Weight Loss. Dr. Melvin was my doc, but I have heard great things about them all and I love the nutritionist department.

You may have noticed that we are great supporters of our surgeons!  I had my surgery at Baptist Metabolic Surgical Center.  Dr. Albert T. Spaw is my surgeon.  In my eyes he is the most wonderful surgeon in the whole wide world!!!  I knew that I was in the right place the moment I met him.  You need to visit some of the centers and see which one feels right to you.  We are all loyal to our particular doctors.

P.S.  Mine is the best!  (Te he!)

Dr. Albert Spaw is FABULOUS !! I first got to know him in 1995 when he was a general surgeon. He did my gall bladder surgery and breast lumpectomy. Now he only does bariatric surgery. He did my RNY in December and everything has gone perfect !!! Highly Recommend.--Good Luck

As Freddie and Ann stated, Dr. Spaw is wonderful. He is not only well respected in the bariatric community but he is sweet and compassionate. If you need further information, please let me know.

I recently had my RNY at Vanderbilt, with Dr. Richards. He did a wonderful job, with no complications.

Hi Dixie,   My surgeon is Dr. Richards at Vanderbilt.  He in my opinion hung the moon and could do no wrong but that is just my opinion...LOL...

  I unfortunately did have some complications but my RNY Gastric Bypass was 100 % perfect.  He fixed my complications too....

  I did not make this decision lightly.  I attended every WLS seminar within a 50 mile radius of here 2 and 3 times.  My family called me a professional seminar goer but I didn't care.  I had to do what I felt was right for me and if you ask anyone else here on the board they will tell you pretty much that they had to do what felt right for them. 

  There are many qualified wonderful surgeons and quality WLS centers in the Nashville area and I feel blessed to be a part of such wonderful community....  Good Luck to you....
