2 years out I have a problem!
Last night (5/5) I attentded an employee appreciation dinner. I didn't eat anything I have not been able to eat before but since then I have been in severe pain and have not been able to eat or drink anything without the pain intensifying. Pepto Bismol will cut the pain some for a little while but as soon as I drink anything the pain is back in full force. This is not one of my normal dumps which have been rare since my gastric bypass. It's been over 24 hours and I'm not any better, the pain is radiating into my mid back ....any suggestions as to what it might be?
Thanks
Thanks
I don't know what it is but I would go see my dr. Hope you get better.

Please get yourself to the emergency room...at approx 10 months post op, I experienced severe pain upon eating triscuit right along my waistline. The pain was caused by a partially blocked bowel obstruction (scar tissue), and ended up having surgery the next afternoon. Please do not take this pain too lightly. People (including an OH member) have died from this.
Call your doctor THIS MORNING! Please do not wait it could be something serious, I hope not. Norma is right a bowl obstruction could definitely happen, along with possibly an ulcer that as eaten through your pouch.
Please let us know what you find out. Sending up prayers that it's nothing serious.

Went to the ER last night, they took xrays, no blockage or bowel obstructions that they could see. They gave me some medication to relax my stomach and gut and a shot for pain. I'm somewhat better today it seems, I can hold fluids down and a bit of yogurt. The pain is now down to a dull ache. I feel similar to what I did right after surgery. LOL I wanted to lose 10 more pounds but this is a helluva way to do it. No fever or anything. My 2 year followup with my DR. is on the 18th. If I'm not ALOT better by monday I'll give him a call. In the mean time sticking to fluids and maybe soft bland foods if I can tolerate them.

May suggest to follow up with your Bastric Bypass DR. I have so much expirience with this type of issue and everytime I went to the ER they would give me pain meds and do x-rays and CT Scans but find nothing and send me home. Until I called my WLS Doc and he went in and did exploratory and found it was adhesions(scar tissue) the pain I would get would start in my belly around the belly button and get more intense than a normal stomach ache the radiate to my back. I would also dry heave. I have had this issue happen 3 times so please follow up with your WLS doc just from my expirienece and also to make sure all is well. Any questions you can email me at [email protected]
The pain starts about mid stomach and radiates around to my back, I can't lie down and I can't stand up straight either as both make it worse. The intense pain I felt wednesday and Thursday has subsided to a dull constant ache which neither improves nor worsens as long as I stick to liquids. I will be calling my WLS Doc on Monday as soon as the office opens.
