Counseling Provider Credentials...

Okay - I've decided that I need to seek counseling for multiple issues -  Not all bad.....but something that I just need to do -  now that I'm out almost 3 yrs.......IT IS NOT GETTING EASIER and I want to keep those SMET things there....ya know what I mean?   lol

Okay -    I'm trying to find a counselor that may specialize in  bariatric counseling or KNOWS SOMETHING ABOUT THIS WONDERFUL TOOL........

I wanted to go see  Colleen Donohue  (MSN, LPC) and she is in my network (40 co-pay which isn't bad) and well - I'll do this if need be.............

We have an EAP program here at work that is  5 FREE visits that I am going to do or at least start off with and go from there the list of providers suggested in my area is as follows:     Does anyone know of or heard of these or have thoughts to help me with this decision?

My quesion:   What exactly is the difference between LPC, MSN, PHD LCSW, MSW, MED

Phyllis - probably your best bet would be to call each of them and see if they have experience (and how much experience) with bariatric patients.

Doctor Jane Counts is one of us.  She has had WLS and is currently doing physc evaks for Dr. Greene and Dr. Kim, She has a video on his website.  Down side is she is in FTW. 

Tom still goes to her and the family has been on occasion.
