Hi Sara,
Are you having it at Doctors Hospital or at Vista Hospital?
Vista isn't too bad, looks abandoned from the outside when you drive up but that is not the case.
As for the other, I had my EGD there, it was okay.
Congrats on your surgery!!!
Blessings,
Nina

Don't say anything unkind, untrue, or unnecessary.

When I had my egd done there, I had no issues with them or how I was treated. My friend (Sistalee) had her surgery there, look her up on the board and she might be able to answer any questions you may have.

I was there for 8 days due to some rare complications with another issue-not the RNY so don't worry- and it was okay. It took a while to get a nurse to come but when they came they were good. I'd suggest having a friend/family member with you the first few hours you're in the room. Tips- bring lotion and chapstick because you will be dry.
Please post and keep us posted on how you are doing. Ask questions-everyone is here for you. Good luck!!!

I had my surgery with Dr Barker at Doctor's nearly 3 years ago. I was treated well, very friendly, competant. I did have a problem with one nurse who lied to me about my pain meds. I reported him and would bet he no longer works there. Got to my room at 10 pm-went home at noon after a laproscopic revision from lapband to RNY. The hospital was older but the staff was good. I had great nurses for pre-op, surgery and recovery. Dr Toussaint for anesthesia was very nice too. Of course Dr B is my man-who couldn't love someone that helped you go from a size 24 to a 8? Let me know if you have any specific questions.

I had my first round of plastic surgery at Doctors and liked it. I'm planning to have my second round there on July 13.
Doctors is relatively small and, like Stephanie said, it's an older building. It's not a luxurious place, but that's kinda what I like about it -- it's not intimidating, overwhelming, or bureaucratic. I found it comfortable and friendly. The staff actually seemed halfway grateful for my business, a new concept in my experience with hospitals! I also like the fact that it's not far from where I live in East Dallas and it's not a giant hassle to park there.
Best of luck with your surgery.
