WLS tips: Traveling 2 weeks-London
Traveling for 2 weeks to London, England. I leave Saturday, June 19 and return on July 2 (which is also my 3 year surgiversary!!)... I will be studying abroad for my master's degree in counseling.
I need suggestions from anyone who has them about traveling for an extended period of time especially oversees. This will be my first travel for this length of time since having WLS. I am not sure if it is a smart idea to pack protein bars here, or what. I am not even 100% what the guidelines will be for declaring them if I have to or not through customs.
Again, any and all suggestions, tips will be greatly appreciated.

You will be fine. You don't have to declare protein bars or anything else...just don't carry fruit or meat.
There are lots of WLS people in London, so you will be able to find stuff at the sotres, just do some research to find product names.
Same rules as home restaurants for London restaurants. At least they speak english! At 9 weeks out I worked in ARgentinga for a week and could not communicate details with waiters to ensure I was getting WLS friendly foods...it was all a shot in the dark.
Anyway, have fun!! I grew up in London and have not been back in 30 years. One of these days......

I took things I couldn't live without and packed them in my carry-on luggage. As far as food goes while you are there you should be fine. The only thing I really missed was iced tea and ice. You can get the normal "American" staples there. There are even Subways, McD's and a few other restaurants you'll be familiar with.
Have fun!

I was 13 months out when I spent 11 days in London. I took my favorite protein powder with me so I could supplement or replace meals if I couldn't find my favorite foods. I had a shake each morning for breakfast, ate meals for lunch and dinner and bought some BabyBel cheese at Selfridge's to have on hand for snacks and came home at goal.
You'll be fine. Especially at this far out, you should know your tolerances really well and get by fine.
