Hi Meggie.
I hope you are doing well!!!

I will look at the pouch test...I don't think so much that it has stretched. I think I just need a big slap in the face on the fact that I'm eating a lot of wrong foods.
I've discovered so many foods I can eat now compared to before surgery...I couldn't go anywhere near dairy pre-surgery. Now I can...so those Cheezits, Mac-n-cheese, candy bars-all the things I couldn't have growing up I can eat now. It's a major temptation and I'm not proving strong enough to fight it.

I should probably start visiting the board more and start being accountable.
I'm great at making excuses....here's one, I had knee surgery about 3 weeks ago (tomorrow) and my level of excercise is down majorly. That's what has helped to contribute to the weight gain too...lack of activity. But I'm still hurting a lot no matter what I try.

Ugh, I'm a mess sometimes.

Thanks again Meggie!  Miss you!
-Jessica

Jimi is doing great. He will be turning 5 at the end of August and will be starting school the day before his birthday! He is so excited!!!!

Thanks Meggie. You are right, surgery on the tummy not the brain. I think it's the brain not working as much any more. Ha ha ha.

I think I'm gonna hit up Ikea this Saturday...but let me know when the next R&S is and I'll be there!!

Thanks for all the great support!!!

Hugs!

First, welcome back!! Second, come to IKEA this weekend, gets some hugs and lots of support.

Ok, now on to what you asked...  I haven't done the pouch test, but from talking to people who have, for many it's not so much to check if it has stretched, but kind of as a "time out" to refocus on the protein dense foods you need and away from the simple carb stuff you don't.   Several have said that after they do the 5 days it really helps get them back in tune with feeling full like they did earlier on.

Now, I'm a dairy fiend, so I can't help with that, but maybe focus on the healthy dairy since you can eat it now.  Yogurt, cottage cheese, good tasty cheese, and of course protein shakes with milk.  Yumm!  Ok, sorry my cheese head came out a little bit.

How much of the tempting stuff can you remove from the house?  I know that's doubly hard when you have a family that likes the stuff and doesn't want or need to give it up.  If you can't remove it all, can you bring your own stuff in?  Jerky, lunch meat/cheese roll ups, cottage cheese (lol, said that before), protein bars instead of candy bars?

Still have my cell?  Give me a call or text if you want to chat.  I've moved to Irving, but I'm still over on the Plano side of town at least once a week, sometimes more.

Thanks Debbi.
What time is Ikea?

You certainly hit on a point of what can I not eliminate from the house because of the kiddo and hubby. That is certainly a big struggle...the ease of grabbing on the go and as long as the kiddo is happy I make do. I know it's not the way.
Plus, the hubby -when he cooks- doesn't always keep me in mind when he's making tator tots or other potato dishes. It's hard to refrain.

Ha ha ha, I did learn the hard way I cannot do salad anymore! Go figure.

Plan on me being there Saturday! I can't wait to see everyone again!!!

Thanks for the suggestions.
Hugs!

IKEA is at 9:30 on Saturday.  Bring Jimmy along too, he could go play in the play area at 10 and give you more time for socializing.

Can't wait to see you!
