It's been a little over 2 years since my gastric bypass surgery.  I started my journey at 325 lbs and got down to 185 lbs.  The problem is I have started gaining weight.  My work has gotten very stressful I am sure this is what is triggering me to eat again.  Or at least feel like I am hungry all the time.

Does anyone have any kind of plan to either get me back on the right track again.  I still do not do sugar, no breads, pasta, no red meat, no sodas, no rice......I do take all my vitamins and my husband and I are starting to go back to the gym.

Has this happened to others????  I worked so hard to get the weight off I do not want to go back.  I have gained 20lbs!!!!!  HELP!!!

 Hi Maria,

Yes this does happen to many of us.   Go back to your basics....protein first.....30 minutes before and after meals with no fluids during those times.   Exercise your butt off.    Watch what you are putting in your mouth.   Track your foods on MY daily plate or fit day.   It is pretty normal to gain back about 10 % of your weight you lost.    You can also do the 5 day pouch test.....found at 5daypouchtest.com.   That will stop all your cravings for the things you have been eating.    Good luck to you and know you are not alone.

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

GOD GRANT ME THE SERENITY TO ACCEPT THE THINGS I CAN NOT CHANGE;   COURAGE TO CHANGE THE THINGS THAT I CAN;  AND THE WISDOM TO KNOW THE DIFFERENCE !!!!    THIS IS MY DAILY PRAYER.

Good for you, for coming here for support before the 20 turns into 50!  Exercise is a huge help and so is tracking your food.  You are already doing a lot of things right by avoiding the sugary carbs but if you are hungry all the time then you are probably eating a lot throughout the day and it adds up.

Figure out what foods "stick with you" longer and concentrate on those.  For me, it is chicken.  I fill up really fast on chicken and it staves off the hunger longer.

Stress is always a big trigger for eating and if it happens at work, then be sure you have a lot of high-protein snacks that fill you up handy.

Good luck and congratulations on  your fabulous weight loss!
