I would like to know if anyone knows anything about Dr. Davis and his clinic. I am considering him as my surgeon for the RNY.

We have lots on here who have used Dr. Robert and Dr. Garth.   I am sure later on someone who used them will comment.   I know for a fact that they are both excellent surgeons !!!  Good luck !!!

Dr.Garth did my surgery. Dr. Robert did my husbands hernia surgery. We have nothing but great things to say about them both. This last 6 months their clinic has been going through some major changes...new location, new programs, additional specialized staff. They have some wonderful plans for extended after care for thei patients. I had some problems with a couple of his old staff when I first started this process but those people are long gone and I've had nothing but good experiences with everyone there. One thing I really like is my emails get answered by the person they are addressed to, even Dr.Garth.

I didn't know anything of Dr. Garth Davis or the Davis Clinic when I went to the seminar other than my PCP highly recommended him. Since I don'****ch TV very much I'd never seen their show. But if you've seen it....he and his staff are just as caring and concerned about their patients as they appear to be on the show. I always feel wanted and cared for when I go there. I have had a very uneventful recovery. Uneventful as in no sickness, no digestive problems, etc. I can only think most of that is because I had an excellent surgeon.

Now that I'm almost 10mo out I deal more with the staff than the Dr and I haven't had any problems or complaints. I'd go to them all again in a heartbeat.

One of the best, for sure!  You are in good hands with Dr. Garth - he is an excellent surgeon.

And Dee knows what she is talking about when she praises him - she attended the Dallas OH Conferenece TEN DAYS after RNY surgery!  I drove us up there, but it was still a long road trip from Houston to Dallas after major surgery and she did great.

What everyone above has said and then some. Dr. Garth did my surgery a year ago and I have not had one once of any kind of trouble. My surgery was a revision from a Molina Band which had eroded into my stomach (bad bad bad) and although it took 3hours and 45min. for him to fix what was broke. I still only spent one night in the hospital and had very little pain.
Both Dr.'s have the greatest bed side manners I have ever seen. Both are very up front and no beating around the bush.
Good luck with your journey.

Dr. Garth did my RYN at Methodist Hospital in the medical center 2 years ago.  I love him and I had a very event-free successful surgery.  I highly recommend him.  He is the doctor people see to fix what other doctors mess up.  You can't go wrong with either Davis.

Have to agree with the others...both Davis docs are the BOMB!!!  AWESOME docs!!!  Dr. Garth is my doc.  Aside of being a great surgeon, what sets their clinic apart is the unbelievable after-care programs as well as the professionals they make available to you in nutritionists, exercise experts, etc.  As Dee stated, they have been adding so many more classes, support groups, etc. just to make more opportunities for patients to attend.  Either doc is phenominal, too.  No matter which one you go to, both are highly skilled surgeons with their patients' best interest truly at heart!  Good luck!
