Posted a few days ago about finally getting to the point where I realize that WLS may be the tool that will finally help me with my weight, but stil being very nervous about this entire process.

Got a call from the doctor's office who said that my insurance requires a 90-day nutritional program and a 3-year history of weight to make sure I haven't gained all this excess weight in one year. The nutritional program is part of The Davis Clinic and I've already got my first appointment for September. It's the weight history that is problematic as my primary physician never weighs me. I mean NEVER -- not once in all the years of going to her has she weighed me. Now what do I do?

Part of me is going "see...you're not meant to do this." The other part of me is saying, "take a deep breath and let's figure this out." I can't imagine that not having the actual weight to show them would stop this process in its tracks.

do you go to any other doctor for your comorbidities..diabetes, blood pressure, gyn, sleep apnea, etc??  If so, why not use those doctors reports regarding your weight.

Do you have any photos that can be dated? Family or school reunions, vacations, etc. Even blog pictures would work. Those snapshots from pocket cameras that put the date in the lower corner are perfect. My insurance required 5 yrs weight records. One of my past Drs. had retired and those records were no longer available. My insurance told me they would accept pictures that could be dated. Lots of digital photos will have the date info encoded into the file.

Just a thought.  BTW....you'll love the Davis Clinic!

Good grief! NEVER weighs you? Mine won't let me pick up a prescripton refill without a weigh-in!

Contact your insurance company and explain and see what they say.

Other than that, start the 3 year program NOW. I waited 2 1/2 years to get approved.

I used pictures too and mine also took a calendar where I had handwritten :weigh****chers meeting 7 pm-wt-246.  Then a week later I posted WW mtg 7PM wt-243.

Don't give up-this will be the BEST thing you've ever done for yourself.  I've gone from a size 24 to a 8 and look and feel better at 55 years old than I did at 30.
