Houston Conference Codes

I am about to get on a soap box...those that are new and dont know me I am apologizing right now....

there are several Texas support group leaders and Doctors who support the Texas people - Dr. Alvarez, Dr. L and several others who have discount codes... please support those that are local - Sean (Pasadena), Vivian ( Dallas) Stephanie (Dallas) and several other RYD - cant remember ours off hand since I have not been online in a while....

Please use the codes that they have - there are others that are from New York, and others that promote themself... believe me they are getting money back from each person that registers with their code so why not support the local support groups or the doctors that have helped out in several ways that have donated surgery, have helped others with plastics, etc....

Sorry for the soap box and not being around more than I should....

I could really care less about monetary incentives I may get if anyone uses any of my codes... I just want to give people (my support group included) an opportunity to go to a great conference for a reasonable price.  

 It does upset me somewhat when I see others using this as a means to increase their income!!!  There are several out there doing it.... not just what we have seen here at TMB recently!!!  However, never in my wildest dreams did it ever occur to me to post on other state forums that hosted a conference!!  I would feel like I was trespassing! 

 Yes there are others out there posting on other forums about the conference or sending out conference invites via FB with their code bigger then life!!!!  That's fine (at least it's not here)... to each his own I guess but  I suspect their intentions are driven more by $$$ and not a love for the conference.  Just my opinion...

 Paige....I am with you.   I will give anyone my promo code that wants to go to the conference for a awesome discount.     I want everyone to enjoy the conferences as much as I do.    Heck....what little money I get from it I always put that plus more into my support group.     That is what it is all about anyway.    I also would never dream of going to another state board and trying to get others to use my code.    Oh well....whatever !!!

Just want you guys to know the lady from N.Y. is a very nice lady, a very active support group leader, and she will be there .....however.... I do believe we need to support our Texas members and codes.  Just like anything else...if you don't like something, just change the channel.  I don't think we have to jump on others for marketing to people on OH...just like if Steph wanted to market her lockets at another conference not in Texas. (I sure hope she gets that chance)  You can just say yea or nay and go on you know?  I'd like to invite any other Texas leaders with codes to speak up if they've been left out too!  This Houston event will likely be one of the largest ever so get ready for a great time to be had.

 Thank you Y, since you are the only one from this forum that has actually met me in person, I appreciate your comments. 

I honestly don't give a darn who people purchase their tickets from, as long as they go!

I have been to several OH conferences in several different states (including CA).....and yes, I will be at the TX convention in November.

I merely post in the state forums so when I host the poolside get together, which is totally at my expense ( I buy cheese and crackers and fruit) I extend the invitation to those in that state to come to my meet and greet because I am thrilled to meet other OHers.

Obviously, there are people in this forum who do not seem very welcoming, so they do not have to attend.....but they will not stop me from posting occasionally or hosting this event.

Sounds like the solution is easy enough. Take off your discount code and all is settled. That way all *****gister are assured of choosing a local support group to fund.

Maryellen, believe me I am one of the most welcoming person in the texas group and no we have not met - I am sure you are a great support group leader as Yvonne has said.  There are so many Texas leaders all over - dallas, houston, austin, lake livingston, and the doctors who have donated surgeries for Texas people that I posted this because I was/am a support group leader and have been one for over 7 years and yes I know it takes out of your own time and money believe me I use to host the group meetings in my own home once a month... we did take turns after a while providing snacks and waters but for the most part it was the leader paying for all of this, the hand outs their time etc....  this is the only reason i posted to stick with your local groups......

most everyone with a code does get some type of kick back, i know for RYD we just give it back... Yvonne does all her trips and video on her own - she supports herself....

we will welcome you - one word of advice post on the states around texas to make this even bigger and better - let the local ones continue to post here to get the code to help their support groups that is all i was saying.....

cant wait to meet you poolside..... we are a close bunch when we need to be.... all have different personalities but that is life.........

i dont even have my code in my signature line cause from the start i was told not to do that but i see everyone does now...guess i need to change mine...

Hi Debra.  We were sent an email that said we could post the $35 discoutn code in our signature line or on our pages.  I have not signed up yet because of a scheduling conflict.  I hope it works out to where I can see all of my TMB family!!!!!

MARYELLEN...IMHO-as a veteran of many conferences-and someone who "knows" all these WONDERFUL peeps, I think it would go a long way toward your credibiliity-and the amt of peeps visiting poolside- if you would somehow incorporate "I'll be there" in your Tx convention info..
