Houston Conference Codes

Debra-Did I take a cheap shot? If so, I certainly didn't intend to. I was only referring to my occupation IN GENERAL-not to anyone someone here would know-just trying to keep things "in perspective", I guess..old people do that

No Gina, rest assured, it was me. 

She has no motives.  I know her personally. She has no idea who has codes and who doesn't, she is merely offering.  There are many other members that splatter their codes all over the place from out of state.  Newbies have brains and can pick who they wish to buy from.  Maryellen has no malicious intentions.  You can choose it or not.  I would hope we can post on all boards and the main board inviting whoever.  There are expenses for everyone going to the event.  I don't understand why we have to jump on anyone that offers anything on any board.  If you don't want it, don't look.  Regarding codes....the local people will be getting a fee too.  RYD is donating theirs.My feelings won't be hurt if you don't use the RYD code because I'm happy for anyone that can go under anyone's code.  I've suggested that we support the locals but we do not have to be unkind or accusing of someone who offers their code on the Texas board because I can promise there will be more members from out of state.  Do we really have to argue over this?  I showed Stephanie's lockets to everyone I could in Cincinnati because they are beautiful. I told the ones that are coming to Houston they will be on sale there.  Why can't we just support each other? Why do we have to start drama over codes? Maryellen is an OH group leader that volunteers tons of time and effort to help others.  All we have to do is not use her code if you don't want to.  When OH distributes the codes they are for use in all forums and all members are invited to share them in all forums.

Maryellen, I apologize for any insults.  I had no idea you were a part of OH conferences or that you would be at the TX convention.  I sure wish you would have been posting "see ya'll at your TX conference".  It would have made things much easier and not quite so messy.  We really are a good friendly fun loving bunch, we are just close and very protective (most of us anyway).  Once again, I apologize.

No life is not rainbows and unicorns but every chance we can we should reach for the beauty of life because of the same reasons you stated....because we were fat and too afraid to speak.  Reality (things we cannot control are things like cancer and people dying from our disease, and people that can't get this surgery to save their lives) those are reasons to be upset.  Why should we create more negativity than there needs to be?  Each of us were fat and mistreated.  Maryellen was fat and mistreated too.  We are all from the same place.  We are all human beings.  So now am I going to be shunned because I asked for some simple human decency to one of our members?  All anyone has to say is no thank you.

Is there anything wrong with wanting to live the life I never had as an obese person? I love trying to make this a better place and try to forget the living hell I was in for 30 years.  I have never said an unkind word to anyone and all I'm trying to do is to see the big picture here.  This is such a little thing when there are far more serious matters in life to get our blood pressure up.  There are ways to express an opinion without directing words at someone personal.

example: Thanks for the offer Maryann but we prefer to use our local discount codes.  Hope to see you there.
