Monday morning WLS Express... Hop the F on and hold on!

Morning people,

another sleepless night for me, its raining cows here in beaumont... I have to say im really dissapointed in how a certain thread turned out yesterday (no steph not aimed at you).  You know people, life isnt rainbow sprinkles and fairy farts. i have spent this weekend watching a dear friend of many years be in horrific pain, even after being given morphine, methodone, xanax, oxy, and a host of other meds that would knock even *ME* down every 2 hours and he is still in agony. This is someone who would never admit to being in pain in front of me, yet when the nurses (God bless them) come in to check, he always states quietly he's in pain and is it time for more yet.  However, when someone comes to visit, he puts on a brave face (what's left of it) and enjoys the time with them.

We gathered yesterday, individually and told him it was time for him to go home and be in peace and no pain. i cried the entire way back to my mom's.... came to the computer for a 'brain break' and opened up to a bunch of crap.  and yes, my friend is still alive and still dying a horrific, agonizing death; people on death row get it easier than this.

so, for today, i ask you, for me, be kind to each other and most of all to yourselves, because honestly, i just cant take much more.

i love most of you.. and behave while im away

Gina - i hope you are feeling better,

please forgive any other shout outs i have missed

Liz

liz i am still praying for you and your friend at this time....

my post was not meant to cause all the drama - you have been around me long enough to know that when i did the support group for years that i spent that money and back in the day we never got anything in return other than helping out those in the group.... you know that for a fact....

now that there is a little incintive i really believe we should support the local groups and doctors - we should not be biting each others heads off...... come on people lets make this a great event not one that there is tension before we even get there....

taking cheap shots at the ones that have been around all these years is unfair....

let me know if you need to stop by before you head back

Morning! Liz I'm so sorry about your friend. Its time like these that its so hard to trust that there is a plan for everything, because it seems so sad and senseless for him to be in so much pain for so long. I'm continuing to keep him and you and his family in prayers.

I just reading all the drama and was thinking along the same lines as you. When do you head back? Did your phone heal itself?

I hope everyone has a great day today.

hey... thanks for the prayers, they are definately needed. Heading back home tomorrrow, as this seems to have no end in sight.
Luckily yes phone is healed!!!! sandi told me 48 hours in the bag of rice so i think i left it about 3 days lol. but it worked, of course after i ordered a new one. however i can always keep the new one or send it back.

I'm so sorry for your friend, Liz.  I hope he's out of pain soon.

I'll be heading out the door soon to head to work.  It's the last two days of the month today and tomorrow, so I have to stay on the ball and keep my production count up.  Stressful days, here I come!

I hope you're all doing well and have a wonderful day!

Thanks for the hug, Gina.  Please keep my friend John in your prayers.  He's on active duty in Afghanistan.  I was talking to him on YIM yesterday when they had incoming.  He got on later to send me a message that he was okay, but now he's talking about not coming home for R&R because his young kids won't understand he has to leave again, and he doesn't have anyone else to visit. Not a great thing to wake up to, but I can hopefully change his mind.

Good morning! LIZ-whomever is your friend's POA needs to be sure the dics/nurses know he needs to be "maxxed" out-getting largest doses of meds ordered-the meds should not be allowed to "wear off". Occasionally we get pts that we just CAN'T control their pain, but they are def the exception. Don't let that poor angel hurt. and as much as people love him-maybe he is having too many visitors and feels like he CAN'T die-like it would be "impolite"...just some things to think about, from my bag of never ending "not asked for advice". May he be at peace soon.

I feel almost human today-am going to try to go to work-never left the house yesterday. My legs feel lik wet noodles...

Keep the focus, folks, remember what is important.....US....lol...If we don't take care of ourselves, WHO WILL? Medicare? Don't bank on it!

Hope everyone's Monday is not TOO "manic"!

I LOVE Y'ALL AND THERE'S NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT!!!

Gina, you know that as far as im concerned, you never have 'never asked for advice!". Interesting you mentioned that as i discussed it with the family myself on saturday.  I will also make sure he is 'maxxing' out.. the tumors are growing DAILY (you can literally see from day to day) and i think its just not controllable at this point.  Where is Dr. Kevorkian when needed.

You know i love you girl.. and i ALWAYS want you advice.
