Out-of-stater wondering what to see around Houston? Coastal towns close to Houston worth...
Hi Everyone,
I will be traveling to Texas for my surgery on Wednesday. I will be in town for a couple of weeks, and was wondering what things in Houston are worth seeing (assuming I'm up to it!) ;)
My sister will be in Texas for work, and plans to visit me for a couple of days. If I'm up to it, we were thinking of driving to a town along the coast for a night or so. Any recommendations?
Thank you for your input!

Galveston can be fun.Depending on how well you're doing, an easy stroll down the seawall or go to Moody Gardens and walk through the Aquarium...in the A/C!!! Terry lives there and I'm sure knows lots of things to do. Oh wait...I think she's moving this weekend so she may not see this today.
There's the Kemah Boardwalk. It's OK, a little touristy for my taste but different.
And Houston itself has some great places, like the Museum of Natural History.
I guess it just depends on what you like and/or feel up to.
BTW...who's doing your surgery?

There is a neat little town in Spring, TX (about 30 minutes from downtown) called Old Town Spring. I've attached a link if you're interested.
