Member Challenge

I would like to challenge everyone on the TMB to UPDATE their pictures.  I met so many NEW people and most of ya'll didn't look anything like your profile pics.  It is so much easier to feel connected to each other when we look the same in real life as we do in our pics.  Thank God for NAME TAGS...I can't tell you how many times at the conference I read someone's name tag and introduced myself cuz if it had been face recognition only, I would of walked right on by. 

Also please everyone, take a few minutes this week and update your profiles.  I know I definately need to make a current post on mine.  As a newbie, I read a lot of people's profiles to get a feel for what I was about to "undergo".  So please pay it forward by doing these two things.

 Great suggestion, Stephanie, I just need to find a good pic that will "cooperate".  After this weekend I realized I need to update my avatar, but I just can't get it too look clear.  

Any suggestions?

Lisa, find a good "head shot" and go to shrinkpictures.com and click on avatar.  It is free and easy.

Lisa, go here to shrink your picture to fit as an avatar.  The only thing else I can suggest is you may have to crop your picture to make it smaller so we can see your face.

I Agree!  I told people from the VSG board that I would stop and say hello to them but I didn't recognize them.  I actually stopped by one table where I thought I recognized someone and just asked "Who has a sleeve at this table"....lol!  Three people raised their hands.  I had to ask Laura if I looked like my pic so at least someone could find me!

OK, I walked the walk...just updated my profile.  My last update was March of 2009 so it was time.  Newbies, you can follow my journey step by step by reading my profile~hope it helps to answer some of your questions.

I updated my avatar to a pic of my whole face LOL.  It is from last year but I haven't changed weight or hairstyle in the past year so it still looks like me.

I will go update my profile also.  Anybody who wants to see it or read it just PM me a friend request.  I don't mine anyone on OH seeing it - just don't want it to come up in general Internet searches.

I totally agree, Steph. I thought my avatar was pretty accurate but was told different so I'll try to get a new one up soon. There were so many people I wanted to meet but I couldn't find them! And lots that I did meet I wouldn't have recognized. I'm sorry I missed so many, we'll just have to do this again!

I too read many, many profiles as a pre op.  I still do.  My one year post op date is on the 17th, and I plan on updating everything at that time.
