Cottage Cheese...how do you like it?
I actually tried it I realize that I really like cottage cheese. So will you share with me all the different ways to enjoy it? What do you eat with it, do you add anything to it? Do you prefer the fat free, light, or regular? I opted for the light but I guess I can't compare it to anything if I've never had the others. Thanks!
I've always loved cottage cheese.... I've found that the fat free kind is pretty bland though. The next time I get it I'm gonna get light instead.
It's ok with fruit - I prefer canned fruit (peaches, mixed fruit) instead of jam. I like it best with a meal, though - like with a meat that has some kind of gravy.
Something about the texture is soooooo uninviting. I always knew I wouldn't like it but gave it a try anyway recently, my suspicion was confirmed, it was yucky. Sorry, but here's a recipe any way: put some pasta sauce on it, top it with low fat mozzarella cheese, and nuke it for a few seconds. Supposedly it tastes like lasagna.
OK so I just have to post a positive about cottage cheese...I love it!!! Great way to get in protein...11 grams per 4oz container... I get the "light" or 2% because the fat free one doesn't taste the same...
I also make it as a "lasagna"...I got the recipe on here and I love it! My difference is I add the tomato sauce that has mushrooms in it, shredded mozzarella cheese and then top it with a little parmesan...and put it in the microwave...the best part about it is that the more cheese you put on it, the more protein you're getting...it's a great meal!
I used to LOVE cottage cheese, now I can't stand it. I have loved it my entire life. I have no idea why my tastes have changed. I now no longer love my famous split pea soup which I make from scratch. I just can't find many things that I can stomach. Oh well, trying something new everyday adds variety and spice to life.
