Are you talking about dumping or being gassy? I was under the impression that VSG and DS didn't actually have dumping since the paloric valve was still there. I'm only 12 days out so I guess I have a lot to learn.......

What do you consider dumping.   Dumping syndrome, that we hear about people with the RNY are sometimes prone to is when the stomach contents empty out into the intestines too quickly and too unprocessed.   With the sleeve, we have the sphincter at the end of the stomach that holds the stomach contents in the stomach until they're ready to move on.  We're more likely to have dumping syndrome than someone who has not had stomach surgery, but less likely than the RNYers, who have had their pyelorus bypassed. That being said, of course, anybody can dump, even if they've never had any kind of surgery.  And even not all RNYers have the dumping syndrome.   The signs and symptoms are pretty varied - a cold sweat, abdominal pain, heart pounding, nausea, dizziness.   There was a VERY disturbing and not friendly for family or work or.... heck, anybody!!  of a lady with a RNY purposely eating 4 oreos and demonstrating dumping.   It looks like, in her, it would feel a lot like a hypoglycemic episode feels like. It seems very very unpleasant!! Dennie
