what does "dump" mean?
Happens usually when one does not have a pyloric valve to regulate the rate at which food enters the small intestine. In people with stomas, the food is dumped suddently into the intestine causing a variety of physical symptoms.
If you go to Youtube, search on RNY Dumping and Oreo...and you can see a very disturbing video of an RNYer dumping on an oreo.
Lap-Band June 14, 2001. Dr. Rumbaut, Monterrey, Mexico.
Lap-Band removed after 7 years and converted to Sleeve Gastrectomy on July 7, 2008 by Dr. Roslin. I've had three happy healthy Lap-Band babies.... and one VSG baby. 5 years out from revision to VSG. Gained 55 pounds in past 5 months, now considering DS. :(
OT Sami...but I can't imagine someone wanting something so much they would go through that. I haven't seen the video but I've heard about it. And I have a friend of a friend who said she wanted a twinkie so bad she didn't care if she dumped.
I don't get it...but to I guess that's why I didn't get the RnY...
Sleevers don't generally dump as a rule cuz our pyloric vavle is all intact...but really anyone can dump at any time on certain things.
I do dump now after eating icecream...it does not set well with me at all and I get sick on it after about 5-10 min after eating...very nauseated..sweaty...have to go lay down....so it took me twice dumping on icecream to figure out that I can't eat it anymore...the real stuff anyway..I can eat the fatfree sugar free kind and thats ok with me...it is just as good
