I fell off a horse when I was 14, landed on my head.  In the mud.

People tell me I haven't been the same since.  It explains a lot.

Sounds like a chiropractor is what you need.

And don't go around scaring poor horsies any more. They are conditioned through nature to be wary of any prey that come out of no where, leaping on their back to devour them. Yes, that is what they are thinking. I know, I know, silly horses.

I did that once when I was a wee one and that black pony broke into a bucking fit.

Try putting an ice pack on the offended area for about fifteen min. Rest a while then repeat. Do this several times when ever you are awake if you can.

Cold retards the inflamination and heat draws blood to the area.

You don't want to use heat till your sure the inflamination is done then apply wet heat to draw the blood for healing.

Hope you get to feeling better

I never hurt my bottom. But I screwed up my knee pretty badly once. Took a few weeks before I was back to normal but I only had to walk with a cane for about 1.

Roxiannie is right on the money, cold first for swelling and then hot.  Keep that inflamation down and then hop in that tub of epsom salts in a day or 2.    LISTEN to the pain. Itis telling you to SLOW DOWN.  I know that this is hard to do, but let a couple of days go by where you are not wrestling horses or kitchens!  If you rest and let your body heal, you will be up and at em in a week.  Pain pills...of yes.  I am never one to have pain when you don't need to.  PS I do this for a living...and I fall a lot!  Out of the attic, on the ice, on a water spill in front of the thrid grade, off a horse.  Good god, I am clumsy!

Yip, fallen off many times and had them fall on ME- that was worse. I swear my thigh was a sheet of hard knotty bruises for months. Also was driving a cart and  had the horse spook, cart flip over and dragged me up a driveway.  Broke my neck diving into a river and trashed my ankle falling off a cliff. Ummm, what was the question? Oh yeah. Yip again, it hurts. Ice first 24 hours then heat, rest and plenty of NSAIDs if you feel up to it and aren;t too close post op. Always have some food in your stomach when you eat the NSAIDs and try not to mix them unless it's acetominophen and  blank   (fill in ibuprofen, naprosen, etc but stick to one kind). XOLori

Yup, I have shown hunters/jumpers and eventing horses for most of my life.  I have come off countless times.  The worst was 8 years ago when I had a compression fracture in my back.  I still ride but I don't jump anymore.  And I ALWAYS where a helmet...Every Time...Every Ride.  My kids aren't allowed on their horses without a helmet either.
If the soreness doesn't improve in a day or two I'd make a trip to the doctor to have things checked out.

I rode as a kid... most of my childhood.  Been dumped off many times, and sometimes at breakneck speed.  Luckily never broke my neck.  I always seemed to land smack on my head.  It's incredible that I didn't do any real damage.

My wife fell off a galloping horse when she was 19 (the cinch broke on her saddle).  She broke her back, and suffered a spinal cord injury, and has been in a wheelchair ever since then (she is now 61).

It took over 4 months for all of the brusing to go away.

Well, MD report is that I am bruised, not broken. Got some muscle relaxers for all over tightness (neck, rib area, bottom spazing, etc.) and some ultram for pain....I am feeling much better and hopefully after a night of meds I will be much better.

Looking like icy weather here....fishtailed on a bridge on the way home...

Oh--got a lighter paint color for the kitchen too...hoping that if we are home from school anytime soon, my kitchen will look better!

Thanks all...

I will be happy with thighs that don't touch!

I hope you feel better soon!    don't be shy with the meds.

once upon a time I had a group to talk about Binge Eating Disorder, and later one about Clean Eating.

PM me if you are interested in either of these.
