I found a decent protein shake mix at Costco, giant container for 30bucks.  It has 25gr of protein, 2g of carbs and 120 cals.  I mix it with Almond Breeze, Vanilla unsweetened which has 2g carbs, 40 cals and 1g of protein.  At the end of the day with 3 shakes, I'm getting 480cals, 78g of protein and 12g of carbs.
I'm hungry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I know I can have soups and lots of crystal light, sf jello and sf popcicles, but all they do is make me pee!!  Does anyone have something else that might be good?

Of course you are hungry.  Your body is screaming for more.

Not all soups will make you pee.  Try some split pea soup, or bean with bacon.  If you need them liquid, run them through a blender or food processor.

careful of carb content on the soup if that's one of your pre-op diet requirements, or they have you on "clear liquids".
split pea and bean are carbloaded.
each doc is different, though.

Being hungry sucks!!
I feel bad for you, but it will be over soon, and then you will be trying to figure out how to get enough food in!
Good Luck!

WOW!!! I would be too! I know that's probably not that much help, but your surgery is still a couple of weeks out according to your avatar info. How long does the pre-op diet last? I know every doc is different, but isn't there some kind of common ground?

And I KNOW you will get through this and I know I will to when the time comes for me to be on the pre-op liquid diet. We CAN do this and it will be here before you know it!!!

Thanks for the vote of confidence!
Every doc is different, but its usually based on your BMI.  I technically don't have to start until next week, but I'm terrified of getting booted off the plane for not fitting in my seat!

Hi,
I'm not scheduled for surgery yet and your post just freaked me out! I am going to be getting on a plane is August for a convention and it never dawned on me that I would be to fat to fly. I will be on a Delta flight. Ooops! Sorry I hijacked your thread.

No worries!  From what I've found out, its best to mention ahead of time what your situation is.  Most airlines want you to buy two tickets and then if there is space on the plane they will refund your extra ticket.  I think it also depends on where you carry the majority of your weight, mine is mostly in my butt!  I ended up booking my seat at the window, figuring I could sqeeze myself towards the window and away from my neighbor.    On my flights, the seats are all of 17.3"wide, I'd like to know who thought that was a good idea!

Delta has the roomiest of all the airlines most of the time.
Look at what your assigned seat is, and you can usually go to delta.com with your reservation number and change your seat (it's not extra).
Also find out what type of plane you're flying on.
Go to seatguru.com and find the seats on your flight with more legroom, movable armrests, or wheelchair access.
You should not have to buy an extra seat.

Doing the 5 day pouch test...started today, so I am right there with ya...Hungry as all get out...but it can and does get easier...usually after day 3.   Just keep doing what you are doing...and remember peeing is a good thing!

Edited to add...Hello my fellow Albertin...(hmm...don't think I spelled that right?)  I am right up by Red Deer!
