Hey Bobby,  how you doing??  i have heard that we shouldn't eat iceberg,  that if you want lettace you should eat the butter leaf,  or romaine or one of those.  But i was told no salads until ? i forget either 3 or 4 months out.  So i have been dying for a salad but haven't tried it yet.  Hope you are doing good,  xoxox jeani

Leaf is best for you anyway...iceberg has absolutely no nutritional value anyway!

I've had lettuce.  One time I do fine with it, the next time not quite as well...lol.  I haven't been sick, as in I have yet to throw up (Thank God!!) but a couple of times I've had a really heavy feeling in my stomach/chest area.  Just take it slow, and it should get better on down the road.

Honestly, I'm having more trouble with chicken than anything.  So far the only meat that doesn't seem to just kill me is shrimp or lunch meat.

I am 2+ yrs out and only recently was able to eat lettuce.  I still cannot eat iceberg lettuce (but who wants to anyway?).  I finally was able to eat small amounts of red and/or green leaf lettuce so that i could make a small salad.  I think lettuce is one of the hardest foods to digest.  BTW, as an aside, i have not been able to eat eggs, in any form, since my surgery.  This was not the case before surgery.  Now any form of eggs, boiled, scrambled, omelet, etc make me nauseous.  I still cannot figure out the reason for this but i don't let it worry me.  There r other things to eat besides eggs.

I have eaten red leaf lettuce, romaine lettuce and iceberg lettuce, all without any problems. I think everyone just has to see what sits well with them and go from there. I love a good salad, so I'd be pretty sad if I couldn't eat them.
