Girlie..did not you just get outta the hospital and were on liquids again or something?  I ask that only to say - maybe you ought to ask a doctor about your food progression - because it might be different than standard progression, since you have had complications.

Or, you know, maybe not.. but I sure would ask somebody official - just in case the progression time frame is skewed.

Take care of you!

Why don't you try Amy's Organic pizza.  It is pretty good and not bad on the calories for the amount our tummys hold.  You can get it at Tom Thumb or Whole foods and probably other places.   It even had a write up in our local paper.

Here's Brok's low carb pizza. Made with cheese and eggs. I'm a pizzaholic and its fabulous. I make it twice a week and use it as a snack and breakfast on the go. It really is as good as pizza with bread crust. I'm SERIOUS. lol

Not sure when you can eat it though, might want to check with your surgeon on that.

?  I was not trying to be your mama.  I was asking because if I said 3 months out, but you have had a setback - then is it 3 months from surgery?  Or 3 months from when you were released, and somebody official would know that answer better than we would.

Why would not it be okay to ask?  I was just suggesting that most of our timelines did not include complications, so we were not really qualified to answer.

So.. I guess I was tamping on your toes and that really was not my heart.  So here is my peace offering, a delicious cauliflower crust pizza.

and that's all I gotz.

If your the one who had complications (leak)

I would totally ask your surgeon to EXTEND your liquid/puree stages just to be on the safe side!

Your healing period only happens once and it is the most medically critical part of the process!

Your sleeve is only as strong as it's weakest point !

Just a suggestion......

I probably started having pizza around 5/6 months out...I always get the medium Dominos thin crust, but I get all meat toppings to up my protein intake, I can usually eat 3 of the pieces (but I'm a year out now) so I have lots of leftovers!

Don't worry, you'll be able to eat 'normal' foods soon enough, enjoy this time and take advantage of the biggest weight loss time frame!

Trust me when I say you WILL be able to eat ALL the foods you LOVED sooner then you may want to.  I would WAIT as long as possible for all those foods you use the word LOVE to describe.
