I got my wish
Hello! I am having surgery on April 27 and today I just found out I am having the VSG. This whole time I thought my insurance wouldn't cover the sleeve and here all along I was covered for the sleeve not the rny.
I just cant believe it I am so happy right now. The sleeve was my first choice and I was devastated when I thought they said my ins. wouldn't cover it.. But now I'm on cloud nine.. Any suggestions or helpful hints would be appreciated.
Congratulations!
I had a lot of those same feelings being unsure if I would be covered.... when I got that "YOU'RE APPROVED!" phone call I thought I was going to pee I was so excited! LOL
As far as helpful hints...
* Old Navy tank tops were my friend. I didn't want to wear bras at all after surgery.
* Don't buy too much stuff pre-op, you never know what you will like after
* That being said, I (along with many others) swear by Costco Premier Protein Chocolate Shakes. They are pre-made, easy to drink (not gritty or weird tasting)
* Walk as much as you can... I did laps around my block :-)
Good luck, I am looking forward to seeing you around the boards ;-)

all i can say is be prepared to totally change your relationship with food.... you can still eat most everything you can now, but in very small quantities... i have found that there are some things i need to steer clear of because it's just too tempting to eat too much (pizza, for example.. it's my kryptonite!)
you're in for the ride of your life - read, learn, relax, and take it a day at a time..... and yes, about 3 weeks out you will hit a stall.... don't panic, just ride it out, it will pass!!!
