Just checking....Are you saying that you come to OH and see complaints about stalls, mushies, gas or whatever so you're questioning whether or not to proceed with VSG or any WLS??

Need clarification.

This is only a decision you can make. Do the research on WLS and the various types.
Folks here selected the VSG and come here for support, information, questions, to share successes and sometimes just to vent. Sometimes they get "tough love".

I've yet to see a poster who truly regrets their decision. They may be unhappy in a "phase" or a current situation but rarely in the long term. WLS/VSG is not a magical cure for overweight. It takes work and struggle and commitment. It's a tool.  But things worth having are worth working for.

Good luck with your decision.

When you read the posts about struggles, keep in mind that everyone gets through the struggles and moves on to the next phase of their journey. I was a whiner in the beginning because I was soooo nauseous. I'm only two months and a little post op, but I feel great now! I don't regret this decision at all! You're going to have to decide if this surgery is right for you. It DEFINITELY was right for me! I should have done this years ago... Much luck to you in your decision and your surgery if you go forward with it!

Aren't we lucky to have such great support system as this?  I knew what to expect from my surgery just by reading the post with people's complaints and fears....We all had our fears, but we got thru it and were able to write about it.  How cool is that? Good luck on your decision....

As I've read the posts about problems, I've felt a little nervous also. But for every problem post, there are so many others that tell about successes and how they've handled discomfort and how it gets easier. This is a great source to find out what we're getting into and how to make it through until it becomes easier for us.  My surgery is next Friday, and for the most part I'm excited to do it and get on with a new kind of living. Good luck with your surgery. I know it's worth it. Hope all goes well. Keep checking in with us.
