Could you blend some unflavoured protein powder into your soup at lunch and supper? It shouldn't be difficult to add a fair amount of protein without having to force too much into your new tummy.

Hey there.  I will be 2 weeks out tomorrow.  The first few days, I didn't worry too much about getting in protein, but I made sure I got plenty of liquids.  I'm almost 2 weeks post op and I do get in my protein and water.  I have a protein shake twice a day and then usually have unjury's chicken soup flavored powder with chicken broth and a little bit of soy milk to thin it out.  Some have suggested using a timer when trying to get in liquids.  Aim to get in X amount of ounces every 15 mins.  I have a camelbak that is always near me, so I'm always sipping to ensure I'm getting plenty of liquids.

Try to stay positive, it's only going to get better!!

I agree......It's definitely a drag. I just started thin pureeds so I know how you feel but time will go by and you really need to stay on the liquids to give your sleeve a chance to heal. I was eating greek yogurt, broth and strained soups for a couple weeks then I decided to try the creamed soups because they were on my list but I never used to have creamed soups before. The first time I had some cream of chicken soup it made such a difference. I really felt like I had a meal and it kept me full. I'm not sure what is on your plan but try a creamed soup for a change if you have not already. Good luck.....you will be having real food in not time!

I love SF Torani syrups! I usually have rasberry or hazenut to add to my shakes. I did buy the 6 pack variety on amazon. I also love making SF pudding and a schoop of protein powder to it!

Hang in there just a little longer and things will get better.  I like the bariwise hot chocolate. bought it online.  unjury cream of chicken soup and the proasis shots 3 oz = 25 grams of protien.  Mix it in a little crystal light.  Raspberry kind of tasted like a Jolly Rancher ~ kind of!

I know, I know, I remember being so tired of liquids, that once or twice, I put food in my mouth and chewed it up, then spit it out because I knew I couldn't eat it, and that I could not swallow it, I'm not proud of it, but I just was so tired of not EATING anything. It was not until near the end of my second week of liquids on post op diet though..
I do remember that the most satisfying liquids that I ate during post op diet was the bean soup made from refried beans. I had already gotten pretty burned out on chicken broth and cream soups. It is very rich in protein also. Also had some good split pea soup. My diet was not a clear liquid diet though, it was full liquids, and I just had to strain things. Yogurt, puddings and custards were also allowed on my full liquid diet, and cream of wheat. I ate cream of wheat pretty often.

Good luck with your remaining days of liquids.
It seems to drag by, but it will be gone before you know it.

i had to do 4 weeks of clear liquids post op......  miso soup saved me!   i was so sick of sweet stuff (i will NEVER eat jello again!) and some miso paste dissolved in ho****er was sooooo good!

just keep thinking about how nicely you are treating your healing stomach and how it will pay you back later on with a shrinking waistline!!!
