Help!! Can't deal with aspartame or splenda

Alternatives? I have Truvia and wondering if that is doing the same thing. I can't sleep, I am so jittery I can't stand myself. I had VSG on Monday. I knew aspartame and splenda did this to me but knew I needed to get stuff in. The SF jello was going down nicely when I didn't feel well. I am sipping on plain water wondering what I can find today.
Thanks

You might just use a little 100% fruit juice or Agave necter which is a low glycemic sweetener.

Sleep issues are more likely to do with the anesthetic.  I have issues with artificial sweetner, but stevia which is herbal doesn't give me any issues.  Maybe hold off on stevia for a few weeks if you really suspect that and then try that again, but I'd suspect the surgery.

I'm so sorry that you are having a hard time right now.  The first couple of weeks are the hardest.   All the anethesia and your body is in shock from the trauma of major surgery.  I use the liquid stevia and i love it but i only use it in my coffee.   I hope you will be feeling much better soon.   I didn't sleep well or at all really the first several days, even at home i just got in naps in the beginning.  I hope you find something that won't upset you    Congratulations on your surgery   walk, sip, rest and repeat :o) Jeani

I have fibromyalgia, and artificial sweeteners do a number on me. I went for my final pre op appt with my surgeon yesterday, and he said not to worry, just to stick with honey, or agave nectar. Good luck to you! Jess

I have issues with artificial sweetners as well. They give me migrains so I use only a product called NuStevia White Stevia Powder. It's made by NuNaturals. I get mine at a local health food store but you can also buy it online. It's expensive - but it lasts a really long time because you don't use very much at all. I use it in my tea and for cooking. And it doens't bother me at all. Here is the website:
www.nunaturals.com/product/157

Also the VitaminWater Zero - that is sweetened with Stevia. And they have alot of really good flavors.
The Sobe lifewater also has no artificial sweetners.

And I have a Protein Powder that is sweetened with Stevia as well and is very good tasting. It's from ProGrade and I get it online. That's the only place I've been able to find it. Downside - It only comes in Vanilla, Choc. and orange. Here is the website:
fishoilforyou.getprograde.com/

Good luck! I know how frustration dealing with artificial sweetners can be. There are everywhere.
I hope this information helps.

Isn't Truvia even better? I finally got down lemonade with unflav. protein with truvia, YUCK!! Just to get the protein in. I just put some unflav. in my soup and it was YUCK!! too. Oh well, just got back from grocery shopping and taking back everything with splenda and aspartame in it, over $30 that helped with the groceries.
Thanks for your feedback, I'll try Stevia next time.

You have to be kinda careful with the different kinds of stevia. Truvia is a type and it tends to be bitter. So do alot of the other ones. Believe me I have road tested most all kinds of Stevia. And the NuStevia White stevia powder is the very, very best. It is not bitter at all. It's great stuff.
