When could you gulp?

I feel like I could down more protein shakes if I could gulp them down.  But gulp is still no bueno, for me.  I tried it, and it was like a trampoline.  ..... Won't try it again for a while.

Well, I still try not to gulp because extra air isn't good for me, but I can drink them more quickly, and I guess that started about 4 months out or so.

I have never been able to drink like that at all. You know in the beginning you need fluids so badly and want to gulp...gosh I missed it SO much. I have been able to use a straw from early on to keep me from drinking to fast..it was killing me. I still use a straw every day....I have no air issues with it. I actually find that I drink better and more consistently with at straw.
It seems a straw is a no-no but it works for me.
I did not notice how far out you are but for a long time and sometimes still room temp or warm liquids are better for me.
Good luck..keep drinking up!

At 3 years out I still can't gulp like I USED to.  I can consume way quicker then the stage you are in but it's different.

Just take your time.  Take everything in.  Be sure to sip your water.

I am not yet 2 weeks out, but can take a regular swallow of liquid now.  Can't keep it up, but can take a swig of water, rather than a small sip.    That said, it  still takes me quite a while to get my water down!

Around 3 months I could drink normally.  I can't chug, but I can take long swallows.

I am only 12 days out and can gulp now.  I can take 2-3 gulps with no problem at all, just a little burping, but no pain at all or anything.  After I do that , then I have to wait a few minutes to do it again so it has time to go thru my sleeve.  I was suprised at this, thought that would take way longer.
