Meled Cheese ??
Does anyone else have a restriction on melted cheese? I am in the mushies phase and my NUT said not to eat any melted cheese ~ said it cal "ball up" in the stomach.
That said, I made Shelly's Baked Ricotta last night and it was WONDERFUL. But, I was really afraid to eat it with the cheese on top, so I ate very little. My DH loved it, though, so it won't be wasted! I will eat more today, pulling off the cheese on top.

I believe my guidelines say that I can add cheese to baked potatoes and scrambled eggs this Wednesday. I am 10 days post-op. However, with every new stage I am apprehensive. I am always waiting for the "thing" that I won't tolerate well or that may get "stuck."
I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me!

You should always follow your surgeon/Nut's plan but I have been eating melted cheese in my scrambled egg and also melted on top of refried beans and chili. I even put a small scoop of tuna salad on a plate the other day and added a small slice of swiss on top and nuked it like a breadless tuna melt. I have not had any problem. I think if you chew it to death it should not be an issue but again cheese is in my dietary plan.
I have a teeny bit of melted cheese (on the Ricotta bake, re fried beans) but I tend to not end up eating most of it because I don't want to have a lot of it in my tummy, it's very hard to chew to the right consistency where I feel comfortable swallowing. I tend to stick to the Parmesan for a little cheesy flavor on top of things right now. I figure I will be able to enjoy it soon enough and I'd rather wait till I don't have to worry so much about it.
