Pills Cant Swallow

The Citrate I bought, I would have to take 4 a day and they are big. I cannot do that. I am hoping they will take them back. If nothing else I plan on just getting Calcium Carbonate chews. Also I read that taking calcium for women makes your chance of heart attack and stroke much higher. It said to try and get it mostly through food. I am not sure what I'm going to do still trying to figure it out. I just know I can't do the 4 horse pills plus Prilosec and my Prenatal instead of multi (not pregnant, just makes my hair and nails look better).

Hey sweetie, sorry you are having this problem. I may got a lot of smak for saying this but...... i always assumed that the sip thing was just for the very beginning when our surgery is so new. I have been swallowing whole pills since about 3-4 weeks out. I don't sip anymore, i drink like i always did, i was never a gulper, but i drink like i always did. I hope this resolves for you soon. As far out as you are i don't think the sip rule still applies. jmho :o) jeani

I thought the sips was at first, too! I drink "normal' now. When I went for my 2 week follow-up, I mentioned this and the Dr. seemed to think this was fine.
I am SO ready to be able to swallow pils rather than chew!!!!!

Hi Jeanie,

I actually drink bigger now. I may not gulp gulp but I can swallow water with a few at a time.
However by sipping in the beginning, maybe my throat is trained that way. i dont know.
but seriously I do have troubles swallowing a 1.2 a pill. I will practice. I just think I need to readjust
my throat when I am swallowing. I will practice practice... and get back to you. thank you for your feedback.. huuuuuuuuuuuuugs...

Wow, that sucks. I do the Calcium Citrate chewables from walmart and since I don't eat sweets anymore, they are like candy to me and I actually look forward to taking them.
