Vicki, I pray you are one of the lucky ones, too. I am just a few hours post op and have a little pain that seems to be gas ( I remember from two previous lap procedures) and maybe some tenderness at the stomach/esophageal juncture from tubes. My lips aren't even cracked! I feel the best when I stand and move a little, just like so many on here have said. Thank goodness for veterans!! I haven't been nauseated, either. That surprised me but I'll take it. The main hurdle I have yet to jump is sipping...

Sooooo hope you your surgery with Dr. Kim!!

Yep i'd say a lot of us have no pain.   They cut the nerves when they cut the stomach so the only pain some people have is from the incisions,  i didn't.  I did have gas pains but nothing like i expected.  I think if you go expecting it to bad most are happily surprised.   walk, sip, rest and repeat   congrats :o) jeani

Well, I gotta burst the no pain bubble here and say it hurt like hell!!! Not sure why still (I did have hernia repair and my liver was bruised during the procedure) but it did. I've had 4 c-sections (and no pain relief afterwards due to nursing) and various other surgeries, and this, for some reason, was just not good. Having said that, I've had zero nausea, have tolerated everything extremely well, and have been able to get in all daily requirements since day one. And believe it or not, if I had to choose between the pain vs nausea/vomiting, then pain wins HANDS DOWN!!!!

You all were very lucky!!!!!!

I just had my sleeve on Monday the 25th, and as of the next morning, I never used an pain meds, I took Tylenol to help with the soreness, but really no pain whatsoever.  I have been truly amazed!  The gas hasn't even been a big issue either.

I had no pain at all and actually had 2 surgeries in one since I had an ablation done as well.  I had nausea for the first 4 days, but NO pain whatsoever.  I didn't use my morphine pump in the hospital and the bottle of hydrocodone they gave me to take hom has never been opened.  I have been sleeping on my side and stomach since surgery with no problems or discomfort at all.  You're one of the lucky ones!!

We're among the blessed ones. I had NO pain after surgery either. Not even gas pains. When I came out of surgery I even had to ask the nurse if I had had the surgery, because I wasn't in any pain. I still have my unopened liquid pain killer in my medicine cabinet!!!

When I was in the hospital post op, my nurse had to keep coming in to remind me to press the pain medicine. I told her I didn't need it and she told me to press it anyway, because I was going to be charged for it!
