Please tell me the swallowing gets easier?

Im only 1 day out but please tell me this sipping gets easier?  And how long does it take?

My day has been OK.  I have some pain and nausea but otherwise I have been up walking and showered.

It gets easier...It took me until day 12 to drink without discomfort, now I can almost drink regularly 5 weeks out. Hang in there!

I found I had trouble if I gulped at all and got air in with my water.  Take it slow, pay attention, and be mindfull of letting the water go down with out the air.

Don't forget, they put tubes in your throat, one for the breathing, another to the stomach to set up how big it is, so the soreness from that will go away too. 
Feel better, and sip, sip, sip. 

I only got ice chips my first day.  Everyone is different.  But, yes, sipping gets easier.  But, you have to take it VERY slowly.

Up and walking and took a shower!!  Great progress!

I thought I've ruined my life day 1-3, then it all went fine.

Every day that goes by it get's easier and easier. I found that I could not drink plain water- the only thing I can tolerate is  Crystal Light Decaf Ice Tea. So try different things. I also like the MIO water enhancer.

I do miss being able to down a glass of drink though- I think more than the food!

I too have found that when I sip, my stomach cramps up. I make sure that I am drinking things at room temperture because cold things make it MUCH worse. I know its my stomach complaining to me and it will ease up in time but really looking forward to that!
