( I will try to make this short! )

I just did my 5th month of doctors visits.  I have gone consecutively for all 5, starting in January.  The problem is, in March, I showed up for my appointment at the right time, but I was in a hurry, because I had a semi-emergency.  So, I told the girls at the front desk that I needed to be seen ASAP, and that it was on ly a weight-check visit.  So, they were accommodating and got me back with a NP to check my weight, and then took my paper that has to be signed by my doctor.  It was signed by my doctor who has been signing it for the last 5 months.  BUT...I did not see her at all.  She only signed the paper.  Well..today, I realize, she didn't even make a note that I had come in, AND she did not submit that "visit" to insurance!!!

So, is insurance going to claim that I didn't go in March, even though  I really did, and she signed my paper?  I can't sit around and wait until September to do another 6 months!!!  I'm 3 weeks away from being done!!!  Do you think I will be ok since I have the paper that the insurance requires, or do I need to see if my Dr. will give me some kind of documentation?  I am just wondering if they look into my claims and don't see a claim for March, if that will throw them a red flag.   aaaahhhh!
P.S.  I have United HealthCare State Health Benefits.

Thanks for any input / encouragement!  I need it!

Good luck... I would think they would accept your paper. But, I don't know that for sure. If they don't accept it, then I would ask the doc for further documentation.

I have United HealthCare and along with the signed paperwork they required detailed notes of each visit.  If your doctor is willing she should could make notes for that visit.  I would think he/she would help you out.

They will look at all your visits and notes from the NUT also.  I dont think they will look to see if they were billed for all the visits.  Just speak to the person at your surgeons office that deals with the approvals.  He or she will know if this will be a problem.  Good Luck

Breathe - It is gonna be OK.  Some of my visit notes were pretty sketchy.  Heck one of them said... "Not trying to lose weight, focusing on protein and exercise" and I gained weight that visit!  Worst case they may make you done one more month - but I think as long as you have a date - signature and a weight your gonna be ok.

In my limited expereince, UHC seems to approve easily and quickly - especially if you have a co-morbidity.  If they reject for that - appeal to both the insurance and the Dr. and ask for a review.  You made the visit - the Dr. office made the call you allow you to just do a weigh in and honestly what else were they going to do besides talk about progress/challenges etc.

Breathe - My current skinny jeans are waiting for you... It's gonna happen!!!

I have emailed the patiend advocate at the surgeon's office to see what she thinks. I do believe that the doctor would give me some kind of notes for that day, because she knows I was there, but I am mainly worried about the insurance company saying, " hhhmmmm....we weren't billed for March. Did you really go in March?" ugh. No sleep for me tonight until I hear from the gal at the surgeon's office tomorrow!
