Doctor Visit Brag ! 4 months out

I went for my 4 month visit with my surgeon today.  It is a bit of a drive -- an hour and a half, and I drank a thermos full of coffee all the way there, and ate my scrambled egg wrapped in a tortilla on the way there....but my blood pressure which had been rising pre op was down to 110/80; and my pulse which used to hover around 100 was down to 80 !

According to them, I have lost 51 pounds since surgery (they count the 5 pounds of fluid gain in the hospital, but I don't !)  and I am down 11 BMI points since surgery !

The nurse/nut was thrilled with my progress and also noticed that I am not walking with my cane.  My surgeon was pleased with everything, and so was I !!!

So for those newbies -- I am 55 years old, had surgery at 54, severe arthritis, had been walking with a cane for two years.  NOW -- caneless (well, in crowds, I still use one) and walking 10 minutes a day !!!

I love my sleeve.

Wow, that is fantastic! And being mostly free of your cane is such a victory. Congrats on all of your progress.

Thank you all for you kind words. It took about 60 pounds before my knees found any relief, but it is getting easier and easier, and I am getting stronger all the time.

I appreciate all the support, and kindness here !!
