What does it feel like when you have gallbladder issues?

I am trying to figure out what I might have.  My stomach feels very bloated and gassy but I can't tell if that's the origination or just another symptom.  It causes dull pain under my rib cage that radiates to my back (or begins at my back).  Now, I do plan on going to see the doctor, but I don't even really know what to say.  I can't figure it out because I've taken GasX and that doesn't help.  There's really no rhyme or reason except tha*****pically starts around the beginning of the evening.  And usually it won't go away until I go to bed.  It's not every day, but every few days and it began about a month ago (around month 11).  The pain isn't sharp, but it's very uncomfortable, I find myself gritting my teeth and using heating pads.  I have  a few theories--too high for kidneys, maybe appendix?, gallbladder, back, some other weird, thing.

My gallbladder attack pain is a ache just under the breast/ribcage center right and shooting thru to the back and shoulder blade.  My daughters was the same - hers came after eating and would fade after several hours.  Hope this helps.

Strange huh? That pressure right where your ribcage meets.
I know exactly what this feels like because it scared me so much that I went to the hospital one night because I had never felt this uncomfortable pressure before.

My EKG's and Xrays were normal. The doctor's couldn't pinpoint the source so I chalked it up to either indigestion or passing a gallbladder stone. Gallbladder pain usually is on the right side of the chest. Mine wasn't but everyone has different symptoms. I experienced no nausea either.

I'll be going in for an ultrasound on Friday so that I can rule out the gallbladder but honestly, I'm now thinking that it could be indigestion.

Had it happen twice after that first time. I kept sipping fluids and it went away after 10 minutes.

Try that. Tell me what happens.

Your sounds like gallbladder.  When I had mine, the pain was right underneath that little bone that sticks down right below the center of your ribs and it felt like it was coming out the back.  I would feel slightly nauseous and would have heart burn.  Just tell the doctor where you feel it.  That's what I did and they knew exactly what it was before I even had the ultrasound.  Good Luck!!

My pain with my galbladder before I had removed last year was exactly as Candy described. Like someone punching there hand through your chest and it coming out of your back! Very uncomfortable...and it can go.away for.a.week or.two, then come back with a vengeance. Just get it checked out...and removed of necessary.

Gallbladder problems (stones) can cause a variety of symptoms in different patients.  For me, I had chest pain which radiated through to my upper back.  So not even near where the GB is!  The ultrasound is pretty easy to have done.  They probably have you not eating or drinking after midnight, but if you need to take pills, it's fine to take them with a little water.  During the ultrasound they'll look at your gallbladder, aorta, pancreas, liver, right kidney and common bile duct.  Some places may also include the spleen and left kidney.

I'm an ultrasound tech and do these almost every day!

my gallbladder pain was like lucys, Terrible pain radidating from my ribs to the back of my shoulder, its horrible pain when you'rehunched over in a featal position. feels like a possible heart attack well that is what I thought I was having... keeping a fried free/fat free diet worked SOMETIMES, but then it got so damn bad that drinking water triggered an attack. I never got gassy or bloated with my gallbladder pain. the gallbladder pain with mine got worse over time. thank god i had it taken out!!
